Would it work to just have Este? I think we need a uniformity on keeping out titles like 'Duchy', 'County', 'Khanate', etc.

I really don't care for this. I'd prefer to keep using PAR for the Este, as it has been used in all previous versions.
Admittedly if we end up using the shield_par for Parma then it makes sense to change the tag. But updating everything will be much easier if we can keep PAR as Modena, and use a new tag for Parma.
And I like "Ferrarra" for a hypothetical moved Este state. "Estense" is better then Este. In fact I think there was a duchy of Este in the Veneto or somewhere like that.
Este was a city north to the Po where the family firstly resided (something like burg Tyrol or Habsburg). In Italy it's the commonly way to name this land possession as Domini Estensi or Ducato d'Este. Domini Estensi was commonly used till Popes war. This domains where splitted in 2 duchies: Ducato di Modena e Reggio and Ducato di Ferrara. As the Pope took away Ducato di Ferrara, name of Este possession became ducato di Modena.
So the best way to hadle it is take Este as main name. If you want take Modena as name, but Ferrara makes little sense.

Did that, and also reserved tags for the four new nations Garbon proposed in the Volga & Steppes thread. Unless I'm missing anything, this leaves us with only the not certainly working MUS tag. If we want to stay able to contemplate adding more nations, it might be a good idea to try to reach a definite decision on whether to remove the countries on the "might get removed" list.

Most definitely, especially if we embrace some SEA changes (map coming soon, wasn't able to this morning
) and those two proposed Indian nations (Sind and Godwana(sp?)).Nothing decided yet, but if we are to remove Nogai, then that tag can go to Shiraz.
I was already assuming that since you said so in your post. As it seems, there is few objection to removing Guyenne, Auvergne, Bourbonnais, Orleans, Suzdal and Nogai. Would be good if we definitely had these six tags to distribute.

I just don't like how you refuse to join in discussions in regional threads and provide arguments for your (certainly valid) point of view there. If you think the French minors should be kept, say in the French thread why, don't just decide all things again and possibly in a different fashion in your scenario. Either these countries are scratched consistently in all scenarios because there is consensus within the whole EEP that they don't deserve inclusion or they stay in all scenarios.

2flower... i don't refuse, it's only my lack of time bringing me to debate things when possible and whenever it is going to be. Have we really to be so formal to post in the regional thread even if a discussion came out elsewhere? Maybe you have time to make debates on both threads... on random or regional... i unfortunatly have not so much time. Hmm... just looked at the tag list again... I would really prefer to keep both the KAL and HEI tags free for the time being. Can't we kill off some of the American Natives or something to gain the needed tags instead?
If it is needed, AQU can be used - it was discussed in EEP British Isles, & while my own opinion would be to keep it if possible, it can be reused if necessary.
