I am running on a Fujitsu Tablet 5010 Lifebook. I installed EIC just now and was notified a patch was available. I accepted the download. Closed EIC and ran the patch. I got this error:

Runtime Error (at 76:701):
Access violation at address 77375DBE. Read of address 00518000.

I closed the error box and it said the patch was installed and to click "finish."

I ran EIC but was unable to discern if the patch was indeed installed or not.

As a suggestion...would be nice to have a patch that would recognize your email adress and authentication key...was an inconvenience to type it in each time I tried to run the patch.

After reading Susana's thread on the new patch...I have deduced that the patch did NOT work on the laptop...as there is no button for turning of 3d ports when I go into the campaign mode.

So, knowing that the patch did not work...and that this is my only contact to a tech support service...where do I go from here in order to try to correct the error that I reported above?

Do I need to post my specs through a dxdiag sheet? Would be nice to know someone would be working on this problem.

Or set up a tech support line via the forum or email so I know my problem won't fall to the bottom of a list.

I love the game...but have not yet been able to play much due to time constraints (work)...but would like to have a game that was working at the level others enjoy.

Sure hope someone from Nitro or Paradox QA tech support acknowledges this thread.

Thanks

Thanks Kim for responding.

I checked over the new thread (sticky) on the patch install. I did everything correctly but I still get the errors listed in the first post on this thread.

When I check the .exe file in the C directory it says 1.0.0.8398 as the version.

About the "pause" button in the "game info" screen...there is a little check box in the upper right that, by default, does not have a check in it.

Is this something that might indicate that the patch did actually install even though it told me there was an error?

Also, where is the "port loading screen?" When I go to single player - campaign, I see no place where I can click 2d or 3d port view. Only in the tutorial does a little check box appear where I can turn off 3D port view.

Am I missing something here? Or is it possible that the patch installed but not completely?

Love the game...forgive a 61 year old idiot here.

Can't wait to find time to mod this.

Thanks for any help to troubleshoot the patch-install problem I encountered.

Hi, the patch has indeed installed if you have the pause-checkbox in the game info. You can also press ALT+TAB from the game and you'll see that the game is version 1.01 if you put your cursor over the game in the task bar.

For disabling the 3D-port: When you're going into the port-view you see a loading screen. After the loading is done there's a "continue" button that you have to press to get to the port. Before pressing "continue" you can disable the 3D-port from a checkbox just under the tip-text up left.
You can also disable 3D-port from the graphics options in the main menu.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Juho,

Well it did indeed install. I wonder what the error implied. Glad to know it is working and that the patches install ok...so far.

Thank you for starting the tech forums also....and thanks for the help.
