After roughly 2 years, our game is finally out there.

I hope you like it.

I would once more like to thank all the people that were in closed beta and then open beta: your feedback has been invaluable.

First patch is already on the way, which will take care of some issues like loading ports. NOTE: you can already disable 3D ports from game menu, which removes the load time.

EIC is different game in one major respect: it's both trading game and wargame. Try to approach it like it :) If you play the grand campaign, the first hours / 20 years are quite serene, but the decisions you make will have far flung effects.

About 1630 things start to change, as more ports get taken and the campaign mission amounts rise. Up until this point automatic trading routes have not needed so much of your attention, but now as import amounts rise, the dynamic prises really take effect.

You also must pay attention to diplomacy, as clicks start to emerge between companies.

Roughtly at 1700 starts the end game: there should not be that many companies left, but those that are are strong. You can either try to hang on and win the game by completing the last campaign missions or, if your feel powerful enough, try to waste remaining rivals or take the whole India.

The game experience can be quite different for different games, as AI companies act differently each time.

Again, I hope you like it and get hooked. I know we all did.

Atm I'm rather pissed at Impulse for screwing around with the Pirate Bay addon but a few things to consider

1. Switch the camera movement speeds around... trying to move the camera with just the arrow keys is just futile atm.

2. There's some really strange and annoying bug I noticed in a stormy weather, for some reason all the interior planking on a ship disappeared and there was just water behind the cannons, weirdly enough it was disappeared after a while or it might have just been one ship looking like that, 96 gun line ship anyways in battle scen.

3. Why oh why is there no freelook while holding the mousewheel down... it's rather annoying not being able to look downwards a bit more.

Good to know! I was feeling a bit underwhelmed for the first hour or so of gameplay but now I see where it will lead... :D

Thanx!

I just saw something really retarded.... one of my ships lost all the masts at once and after a while it was pummeled down, now it flipped over and guess what all those masts that fell over were sticking straight through the bottom which was now facing upwards.....

Must be nice to be able to play.

Why it's quite wonderful actually. If you do have an issue with the game do post your problem with it somewhere :)

On the game, it's a lovely little game. A wee bit simple in it's gameplay, but I do enjoy games which aren't too hardcore. Today's patch fixed my biggest issue with it, the port loading. So thanks for a great game! :)
