One thing I really liked about the flashpoints was the opportunity to fight opponents in non-stock mechs. The heavies from the last mission of the Heavy Metal campaign were easily more dangerous than any stock assault.

This suggestion is to introduce high-difficulty missions with custom opponents piloting variant mechs that use rare and lostech weapons to provide more of a challenge to late-game players.

Not sure if this is possible under the current system but it would also be interesting if there is a way to have the AI adopt successful player designs and to promote mechs that are successful against players.

Such suggestions would be incredible. They would both facilitate Player Progressions as well as increase Replayability of the Campaign as well as Career Mode. Even Skirmish Mode would benefit as Players who really want to put their new designs to a HARD TEST, could select such a Lance and have a rigorous and FUN Skirmish Match. : )

So... more flashpoints? ;)

Less snarky, I could see the creation of one or two custom variants for each chassis that use improved gear and/or different loadouts. They could be given an "Elite" tag, and a set of missions created which pull from mechs with that tag. Could even redo some of the current missions to include a few Elites. It would be a significant amount of work. :)

Could also be modded in.

Could work as part of the current Assassination missions, actually. I think there's even one that says that the mech was stolen from a research lab, not too hard to note that the lab was looking at SLDF tech and make the mech an SLDF variant. Well, I say not too hard. I don't know how hard it actually would be, given that the variants would probably need to be added. But it's a thought.

Would be interesting to see more custom load outs even in normal missions. Just give them a fairly low chance to spawn, but with a slightly higher chance for your target in an assassination mission.

I imagine the challenge would be how they'd handle salvage. I can't see randomly generating them working very well either so they'd have to have them premade. You'd also want a decent variety. Seeing a custom load out would be cool, but it would lose a lot of its charm when you've seen the same mech/load out for the 3rd time. At that point I'd almost rather just see them add more variants.

Just having them use Star League mechs is an easier alternative, but those mechs are already getting rather common.
