There have been many AARs which have resumed after much longer pauses. Reality takes often takes precedent over AAR-land, alas.

Tech Talk II
10th of January, 1937 - Tokyo Naval Base

Yamamoto slams the door shut and runs down the stairs of the Imperial Navy Headquarters.

More time ... more time ... they always want more time!! I'll have his head if he can't even manage to fulfill my really reasonable demands! We need modernised ships and modernised planes. It's as easy as that or we will fail even against the British Navy!

People jump and get out of Yamamoto's way as he continues to make his way to the Nagato, the flagship of the IJN and his base of operations.

The Nagato in harbor.

Sure, we did start a secret program of naval construction to catch up and overtake the Brits and even the Americans, but it's going too slow! Way too slow!

Sure, Hiryu and Soryu entered service last year, that was a step in the right direction. Still, with only 5 Carriers, one can not win a war! We need at least 10 - and that's stretching it, still. And a Carrier needs escorts.

Since we didn't sign the Second London Naval Treaty, we are finally able to properly outfit our Cruisers and Battleships with larger guns. To even think we didn't at least theoretically develop those guns until last year makes me furious. Damn you, Nagayo ...

The new Destroyer class, "Kagero", on sea trials

And our air force. It still is a joke. We even lost ground against the Royal Air Force, I am told. Disgusting.

The all-new Ki-43 Hayabusa fighter. Fast, agile. But no armor and weak weaponry.

The new Ki-30 Light Bomber design (Carrier version). It's slow and easily outmaneuvered by even the oldest enemy planes.

A disappointment, really....

Development of the imperial armed forces continues steadily, but you are headed to war with china, a land war, and all i see is ships. Are you sure the army is up to the task ahead?

Really nice, love the colour pictures.

I, too, am wondering about his land war plans. Still, nice reading. Better if was a bit longer.
