I have also added a minimum piety requirement of 2000 to avoid that heir of great crusaders escape their obligation because "my daddy/grandpa/ancestor fought the heathens".

Nice event! 2000 Piety requirement seems a bit high, though. One of my kings carved out the the Kingdom of Aleppo (including the actual province of Aleppo and a few extras) under the burden of the Crusader title, and IIRC his Piety peaked at not much over 1000.

Any province in the KoJ gives 1000 piety to a crusader. So, I think it is justified.

Sorry to reopen this thread, but what I'd like is being able to end the global Crusade. Even when I have a non-crusader King (e.g., a non-crusading son inherited), as long as the Crusade is in effect, I'm:

1. losing piety hand over fist anyway, at the same rate as I did with the old crusader, and

2. seeing the same effects as if I had been a crusader. E.g., the same piety bonuses for conquering heathens.

So basically it seems to me that the crusader trait is broken.

What would be more useful is if I could tell the pope to flippin' call off the crusade already. Is there some way to do that, please?
