English or German Version?

Hello All,

I purchased the English version 1.00 of Victoria, installed it, and it works fine. I want to install the 1.03 upgrade but when I do it keeps telling me I'm trying to install an English upgrade over an initial German installation. It then stops installing the upgrade. The text in the games interface of my original installation is in English and the registry entry says the language is English, but the upgrade doesn't see it that way.

I've tried uninstalling the game and re-installing it. Still no luck with the 1.03 update. Does anyone have any ideas to fix this?

Otherwise the game is awesome, just like Europa Universalis II.

Are you SURE you dled the right patch?
This is the one you want if you are sure your original version is the english one and not the English/German one.

Who is the publisher of your version, their logo will be on the CD.

I tried the download you suggested and it still tells me I'm trying to install an English update to a German version.

The publisher is Strategy First and I purchased the software online from EBGames.

I'm not sure what you mean by the English/German one???

The way the patches are listed on the Pardox DL page it is confusing.
A lot of people take the German patch thinking it is the English patch.
Could you have done this with an earlier patch like 1.02?

Anyway the way to clear it is to manually erase the Registy entries then reinstall.
