Hello,

I might have missed a previous thread about this because I haven't posted here in a while. If so, apologies.

Anyway, I purchased Surviving Mars through GOG. I've logged into the game with my Paradox account to unlock the extra goodies. Everything seems OK, except...

1. I can't see my game here on the forum. I don't have the icons on my account. Is there some way to link non-Steam games to my account here?

2. GOG doesn't have the latest patch available. When will this be made available to non-Steam users? Are we always going to have to wait longer for patches?

Thanks!

I've asked these questions on the forums, before the game released, trying to get an answer.

I love GoG, but with none of the community managers answering me, I stuck with Steam just in case, fearing their might've been drawbacks to GoG.

Sorry to hear about your situation Kwami. Good luck.

Regarding 1:
Yes, you have to redeem a game code as it is called here. On your GoG-gamepage there is an option to display your game keys.

Regarding 2:
I also bought the game via GoG and wasn't even aware of the patch. But yes, GoG-Users get patches always a bit later. This is due to the fact that GoG manually verifies the patch and pushes it, so there is always a delay between the devs uploading the patch and the users getting it (and it means no patches on weekends).

Ah, thanks! I've figured it out, now. I didn't see the "Register A Game" button since it wasn't in the "Owned Items" area or anywhere else under my account menu. But, I got it now.

Fair enough, I guess. Seems like at least hot fixes should come sooner, though. I don't use GOG Galaxy. Does it push patches sooner than the manual downloads?

Doesn't the GOG also miss the Mods? I certainly can't make use of Steam workshop and see no mods published in this subforum. Though it might change (i hope it will).

Mod was possible to use after GoG released 228.184 yesterday... Now I hope it would be possible to DL mods from Steam Workshop, when you dont have the game on Steam...

Where on GoG Galaxy can I find my game keys?
Open game library in web browser, click on game icon, then click more. Screenshot (38)_LI.jpg

Does the game support downloading mods, yet? Previously, it would present a message that said it didn't yet support downloading and managing mods from within the game. Since pretty much all mods are on Steam Workshop, the GOG version basically doesn't get mods at present. Which really sucks, since the GOG version was full price and mods are a big part of the game. :(

The mods available on Nexus and github are far, far fewer than what's on the Workshop. That's always going to be true. It's not OK.

If the small group behind Factorio can get this right, then surely Paradox & Haemimont can.

I am just amazed that people buy from a smaller, less established platform and are surprised that the platform with better support and way more consumer base has better options.

I'm looking for "receives patches at the same rate across all platforms" in the marketing and I just can't find it. What am I missing?
I'm sorry, I don't want to sound rude, but I have no interest in debating with someone who obviously just wants to be contrary. Either that or you're just quoting and replying to someone without even bothering to read what he has posted.
