Error Launching Game?

When I click the game to start, all it shows is a window that says:

Welcome to Europa Universalis ROME


We hope you will enjoy this game as much as we loved creating it.


The 2.3.2 patch, for Vae Victis and Rome Gold, has now been released.

It is followed by some links, that have nothing to do with the patch. The window does not have a link/button to start the game.

Not one that anyone else has reported, no. It's more likely a problem with the .NET framework on your machine. Visit the Windows Update site and allow it to update all your .NET versions.

But only the game launcher uses .NET, the game itself does not. You can manually run romegame.exe and skip the launcher altogether. You can get the patch itself from http://www.paradoxplaza.com/in-game/eurome/vv_232.exe , just download that .exe to your desktop and double-click it to install (note this is only for the boxed or GamersGate versions; if you got your edition from elsewhere you have to get the patch from the same place).
