I have CK: Deus Vult with the latest beta patch and DVIP with its addon. However, whenever I select a realm and attempt to play the screen goes black and when I minimize a message says: ***Unhandled Exception Detected! Address:0x0322AF86

What does this mean, and what should I do? :confused::(:mad:

First, reinstall without DVIP and see if the game crashes.

If it does, rename the avi folder, that might help.

Set colour depth to 16 bit.

If that doesn't help, please post your dxdiag.

Also Had This Issue

Like sniedermeier, I have had the same problem with my patch for the game. I attempted to make the changes suggested by Gaute65 and I still have problems with my game. The problems appear as such:

Critical Error!
--- Palette 'gfx\palette\eyr_btn_back.bmp' not found --- Do you still want to Continue?
Abort
Retry
Ignore

No matter what you try, you ultimately get a frozen game and when you minimize, you find this waiting for you:

Fatal Error!
*** Unhandled Exception Detected! Address: 0x7C90120E
Please report! (more information in log file)

I got a new file that showed up as exceptions. It reads as such:

######## EXCEPTION: 0x80000003 at address: 0x7C90120E: BREAKPOINT
12/16/09 15:02:02
SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126
SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126
SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126

Thanks for any help you can give in advance!!!

"Palette 'gfx\palette\eyr_btn_back.bmp' not found --- Do you still want to Continue?"

This errors suggests your install is broken. Confirm that DV is installed on top of CK, not next to it or in a subfolder.

I am not the typical computer savvy gamer, especially when the patches seem to have to be manually manipulated in the system. In respect to the patches to the game, maybe it would be helpful to have a quasi-step-by-step instruction? Obviously you have to install the game on your computer and than download the patch(es), but when I unzip it simply gives me a handful of files. I attempted to replace all of the original files with the new files by the same name by copying and pasting the unzipped files into the appropriate folders. Is there something I might have done wrong or is there another download beyond the 2.1beta that needs to be installed first?

The error you get is not related to the patch but to a possible faulty installation of Dues Vult.

So where have you installed Deus Vult ? Do you even have Deus Vult ? Dues Vult is an expansion-pack for Crusader Kings and it is not a patch on its own.

To install the patch, first download and install WinRAR.

Then download the patch, put the patch in your main Crusader Kings-folder (which usually can be found here C:\Program files\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings). Then right-click on the patch and select the option 'extract here' and then say 'yes' if you are asked to overwrite existing files.
