Error On Installation

Hey guys. This happened when I first installed the game a long time ago, but on the 2nd attempt it randomly worked so I haven't dealt with it until now, after an OS reformat.

When the installation process gets to 79% a dialog box titled "Component Transfer Error" comes up. Below it says-

Component: Core Files
File Group: Common
File: D:\data2.cab
Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)



I have disabled firewalls, antivirus, etc. and am virus/spyware free. Any suggestions as to how I can install? I've tried both choosing "install" from autoplay and running the setup file itself on the CD. Thanks.

Thanks man. That reminded me that when I had this problem months ago, I tried using my 32x CD RW rather than my 64x DVD R, and it fixed it then.....naturally, trying the CD drive rather than the DVD drive fixed it this time as well....strange tho, that the only issue with my drive so far has been with HoI2....but thanks again for your input, definitely fixed it. Danke schon.

Ya I have had issues with lots of games liking one of my drives better than the other and it varies which drive they like so go figure.
