Hi all

I'm trying to add some new countries and flags. I've made the necessary changes in the common/countries and history/countries and history/provinces folders. I've added localisation descriptions. I've added the flags (and their revolt counterparts) to the gfx/flags folder. I've added the three letter tags in flagfiles.txt.

But the game crashes (on "processing flags") when I try to load the changes.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Where exactly do I add in the new tags in flagfiles.txt (I just placed them at the end -- does this matter?) And do I need to change anything in flagfiles.dds?

Thanks in advance!

the flagfiles.txt and the flagfiles.dds are files created by the game. its only necessary to add needed .tga-files to the folder and remove the txt and dds-file. the game create new ones on next start.

Aha. Didn't realize that. Thought I read something somewhere about needing to change the flagfiles.txt.

I removed them, but the game still crashes on loading.

Okay, thanks for the suggestions. It turned out to be a bad mod name, indeed. Now everything loads fine, and in the country selection screen I can see the newly added countries. Hurray, I say.

But, alas. When I click to start, the game crashes again (right between "adapting history" and "loading city", or so it seems). This happens with any country I pick, not just with one of the new additions.

It finally happened. I'm going slightly mad.

I have the same problem. But please could you please tell me where the flagfiles.txt is,I really can't find it.Thanks!
.../mod/insert_modname_here/gfx/flags

remove both "flagfiles"-files from there and let the game creating new ones on gamestart.

It doesn't have flagfiles but it has actual flags for the game.examples:ABB,ABH,ABK,ADK,ADX,african_rebels....It goes on and on,and there aren't any defined flagfiles so if you could give me some advice that would be great.

if you use any mod with changed flags you should have such a folder with some files inside the modfolder.
if you don´t use any mod (choosing "default" on gamelauncher) go to gfx/flags inside the gamefolder.

in these folders are mostly a lot of flagfiles as you described. but there are also two files called flagfiles: flagfiles.dds and flagfiles.txt - scroll down to find them. these two files can be deleted, the game creates them new on gamestart.
