When i try to start up a scenario i was playing with germany that got to year 1942 it comes up with an error about a database already in use or something crazy like that and ive clicked ignore it but it crashes when a day finishes  kinda depressing since i was well on my way to world domination

You need to cmoe up with some mroe info:
-Are you playing with any mods, if yes, which?
-Have you done any 'Do-it-yourself' modifications in any of the files within your HoI directory?
-Hoi2 vanilla, DD or ARMA?
-Can you please post what the bug-report exactly tells? It possibly contains some informations on where to find the problem )

well im running vista and its arma v 1.2 with no mods and i have messed with the editor but nothing file wise, and the exact error is "Database Mismatch(type = 4714/id 657260) Already Used! do you still want to continue?" and there is the normal three options abort, retry and ignore.

You have done one of the two things:

-Made a new event wath an id that is allready in use by another event.
-Changed in an existing event, så that two events have the same id.

I don't know exactly where this id is, but try to get to the files you have changed, and find the event with that id, and change it to something else.
There should be a file somewhere with a list in which files you find the different id, but i couldn't find it ;o)

i dont remember messing with any events before, and i definitely didnt in between when i saved that game and tried to reload it, which was only a few hours later. And I can start up new games just fine.
