Why would I give an high faith authority? What's in it for me as the King?
Well it does certainly benefit the High Septon more, although being able to declare excom wars is nice. However if the High Septon wins a civil war against their liege faith authority is raised in the realm, so high authority will mainly occur that way. Also you may want to roleplay a zealous King as well.
I am pumped about the Faith Authority. I assume that there will be an event where if you are in debt the High Septon offers you a large sum of gold in exchange for an increase in Faith Authority so that you can pull a Cersei?
I will also be looking to implement this good idea :)

Amazing, can't wait.

I'm also interested in hearing what are the incentives for raising the authority of the High Septon.

Also, have the other scenarios been balanced in the light of the recent levies change? What about factions? I think they were pretty much immersion breaking (win the war as Joffrey, see Cersei as LP of Westernlands rebel two days after to lower Crown Authority or gain Independence...).
Factions haven't been altered drastically, their have been some adjustments to the indep faction to make membership a bit more realistic. But I guess a full-scale overhaul is on the todo list.

has the dance of dragons start date been altered in accordance with the new material?
There have many history updates for the dance yes, although it probably wont be 100% complete before release. But as gregorz said it is rather fun nonetheless :)

This is just wondrous.... wondrous!!!

So does the CoA of the Iron Throne now change with the ruling dynasty? And I take it that Joffrey, Marcella, and Tommen now have a separate dynasty?

I wouldn't be so pumped up yet about the new release. You know, the game is going to be patched this week or early next week. Which means the devs have to adjust the mod before releasing all the new stuff (including the bugfixes).

I'm pretty sure the devs were aware of the patch when they relased the date.

Wonderful news, can't wait to play in Essos!

I've got half-an idea for a Braavosi game now.

Lets see how many Daenerys quest AAR will pop out after relase.

totally not planning one at all

the update, or Queen Madge as a slave? :p

Both? At least i cant wait for the update to play around some in Essos for a change, Lys, maybe as the stepstone pirates, or try my hand at one of the slaver cities. Basicly anything that isnt the same old westeros ;P

Westeros will be so much more fun now though :D. Before it was pretty boring/pointless to become King of the Iron Throne because there was not much you could do. I already have playthroughs planned out for Aegon V, Joffrey Lannister and Stannis on the Iron Throne in wars VS various parts of Essos. I also can't wait to make Dorne independent and fight to reclaim ancient Rhoynish land or have the Iron Isles takeover slave business in Essos. So much to do once Essos is here :D
