Hello from Turkey.

We have a network at home with just two computers and we want to play EU2 multiplayer. Whatever we tried is failed. One of us creates server on network but the other cannot see, we tried to play from the ınternet as writing our network ip's. But it didn't work. We both tried in version 1.09 and the previous one.

Someone may help us how to do it ? Please access me at my msn address...

To be able to help, lots of information is missing :) As you say you have read the stickies, but don't say what exactly is the problem, you have to be more accurate.

1) You are trying to play a LAN game? It is impossible to play through internet from the same home-net (unless both computers are directly conencted to the Internet somehow).

2) What operating system do your computers have?

3) What firewall do you have?

4) What router do you have?

And finally, what exactly is it that happens? You know simply stating "it does not work" is not a very good description ;)
 
Both have Windows Xp Professional operating system. I Have Zonealarm and Avast , other has Avast only ... We tried both way : closing the firewalls or when asked permissioning ... I have zonealarm firewall and sp2 ... We have Pıkatel USB Max dsl modem and sharing the net at home with two comp...

The problem is ... in what way we try , we cannot play Eu2 together!!!
 
So you are trying a LAN game, not an Internet game, right? And both computers are configured to be in the same workgroup (for example both computers are in a workgroup called WORKGROUP or HOME or something like that (as long as both are in same) and that Windows recognise the other computer to be in workgroup too?

If yes to previous questions, could you please tell at which point the game does stop to work? Simply telling "it does not work" is not good enough, try to be a bit more detailed :)

Yes we're in the same workgroup. There is no problem with network on the games or net except playing EU2 , the problem is when I host he cannot see my game or when he host ı cannot see his game.

Still no exact solutions told ! Need help !

Hard to tell exact solutions when not knowing your problem :) It's not like we get payed for helping, and we are (at least I am) a bit limited in the telephatic skills. So less whining, and more accurate info please ;)

Anyway, it appears to me that a firewall is blocking the traffic. Make sure not only your firewall programs allow the traffic, but that Windows XP firewall also allows the traffic.
 
Try a corssover cable (but onlly if you want play as a LAN).
Check the ip's, the DNS, sub-mascks.....
try this
put your ip like this one
ip: 192.168.1.10
sub-mask: 255-255-255-0
gateway: 192.168.1.253

your friend, like this
ip: 192.168.1.11
sub-mask: 255-255-255-0
gateway: 192.168.1.253

This meaby work, got to be there to know the real problem and try things :p
