i have never seen so much crash downs of a computer game like in eu v1.04. what are your betha testers are doing there.i have installed the newest drivers. all is working, but eu. in regular times the game hangs up. that is silly. better wait untill you have a serious version before you realese a game. in the betha testers forum they seem much more interested in balanced szenarios and get lost in endless history debates than to do their main job to look for bugs.

Has it occured to you, that there might be a problem with your system and not EU? It runs just honkydory on mine and on everybody elses as far as I can tell.

Paradox have been remarkably quick with patches and have shown a tremendous dedication to the technical support of the game, so I think you are a bit unfair in your rash judgement.

BTW: How on earth did you gain access to the Beta (without the 'h') forum?

Uhm... nice province. I
think I'll take it.

i actually had some problems with 1.04, so i went back to 1.03. it works fine for me. stop criticizing the developers and beta testers, they did a great job...

I think the problem is less with EU, and more with window$ in general. Whenever I see my EU cursor turn into a big ugly white cursor, and the game freezes (5 seconds to drop to winDesktop), I silently mouth a curse to either Windows or BILLG. I am quite anxious for Tribsoft's linux version (not just linux, but in native English, too :)).

Personnaly, my goal was (and still is) to ruin EU and make it a crappy game.
You guessed right !

Pierre,
You and all the beta testers and Paradox have done a great job with this game! You certainly don't deserve a slam like that!

Andergst,
Try being a bit more constructive. Paradox and the beta testers have been great!

been saying that the whole time KRonn. pierre is a saboteur, you have to watch out for him ;). everyone seems to have a high opinion of both the developers and the beta testers.... except for that one guy, you ruined their perfect streak! :D :D

Gents,
For what its worth, whats IMPORTANT is that the crew at Paradox ARE DOING EVERYTHING they can to fix problems as they are informed of them and they are FIXABLE WITH A PATCH. This is my opinion from what ive observed here. The fact that this is also a multifacted forum that is quite stimulating with its variety of topics, and that some of the more self sacrificing customers of Paradox's are proactive enough to work on such things as the leader project should not give the impression that issues such as historical accuracy are just debated here, Paradox is very agressively using this feedback to make the game better, think of EU as a diamond in the rough that requires a bit more attention to be the true gem she will be. So stop yer whinin and be paitent and objective and im sure you will see a better and more stable game in time. Remember you crawled first then walked :D

i haven't had a single crash using EU on my PC. and i've been playing non-stop for days.

well, just about.

I've been playing EU for a few weeks now...quite long stretches of time in the weekends at least.... I've never experienced one crash !!
Which I think is darn solid.

Anyone that remembers my earlier posts will remember that I said the game froze at times, but that was a problem with my VIA chipset and happened on the desktop too, so in my experience EU is a solid game.

sorry, but andergst is partly right. with 1.04 i and many others experience (search this forum or the german forum, you will find many postings on this problem) frequent crashes. and it crashes on all my systems (pII-266, amd 650mhz and amd 450mhz). imo the beta´s did nonetheless a great job.

First : hardly anything ever crashes on my very streamlined and well-groomed system.

Second : never have I experienced more crashes in an application than in the case of EU. I've had periods when the the game crashed so frequently that I started saving every MONTH and even then it succeeded in crashing sometimes several times within the same month. There followed long stretches of stable gameplay, but one remained suspicious nonetheless.

So I'd say there is a problem. Perhaps the application is not compatible enough for all the different configurations it is installed upon ?

One should not be blind to this. EU is not a religion and I certainly am not a sectarian.

Hi All,
I GOT THE GERMAN LANGUAGE VERSION!!! YIPPEE!!! Guess what? It hasnt crashed <G>.
Faruk

System is a Athalon 750 mghtz 128 meg ram a Voodoo 3000 card. Stable as a ship on calm seas. I really suspect that alot of you have TSRs or virus programs operating in background and that could be the problem.

Faruk,
You must have the German version. How much German language do you know?

Faruk?

Faruk?

Oh well, won't see him around here for a while! :)

Query: perhaps for the makers of the game..

The Swedish long awaited release seems to again be just around the corner.. Ok I am an optimist. Now, will the patches for the german version be needed, applicable, or needs to be remade to swedish ones?

Yours, expectantly E.

I totally agree,
when i got CC III, It was always crashing, and even didn't launch. I uninstalled it and re-installed without doing anything else. And no crash in hundreds of hours of playing...
One can never know what's in a computer's head.... :D

Dunhere
PS : despite it's unpleasant, I never flamed any developer nor beta tester! I'm civilized me!!!

Bloody hell, threads like this steam me off.

1) There is NO game out there which DOESNT crash. Developers try to test their games on as many systems and configurations as possible. They can't test everything otherwise the software would never be released.

2) Don't percieve that just because the game crashes on your system it is 'filled with bugs'.

3) EU is not perfect, there are bugs, nobody ever said there weren't. However Paradox is steadily creating patches to eliminate the problems.

4) There almost always ARE bugs in games, it takes a _large_ group of people to bring them to light. i.e. the consumers after the game is released.

5) All the beta testers did their best to eliminate the bugs that WERE present in the game before release. It's not like we were endlessly chatting on 'about historical trivialities' in the forum as some twit said.

Some people on this forum are incredibly immature and bloody selfish in my opinion. I frankly couldn't give a damn about complaints such as this which are ignorant and insulting.
