Hi,

I've been getting random crash-to-desktops while playing EU: Rome Gold edition. They don't seem to be correlated to anything, but when I load the autosave from the start of the year and play from there, the crash usually goes away for a while. They come every 1-2 game years. The crash is a black screen, followed quickly by "Send error report to Microsoft" and the game exiting.

I tried deleting the map/cache folder to no effect, and I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. My drivers, DirectX, and OS are all up to date.

I'm playing version 2.32c downloaded from Impulse, unmodded.

Thanks for the help.

That dxdiag looks OK. Please post your settings.txt and system.log from the Rome directories - you'll need to rename system.log to system.txt to upload it here.

Those look basically OK too. What you could try is some changes to settings.txt :

multi_sampling=0
master_volume = -1 # this will disable all sound
renderTrees=no

If that helps at all you can undo them one by one to see which helped. My guess would be the multisampling one.
