EU will NOT run onWinXP Professional

Just bought the game, and trying to install, but it wont work on WinXP.... is there any one out there how actually got it to run on WinXP??

I understood that XP wasnt being shipped until the 25th?

Anyway - it will run. You might have to use the emulation mode for a previous Windows OS. (95 or 98).

XP has a feature to emulate W9x or W2k, but it still don't work for me ! XP is being released on the 25th, but I work for Microsoft, so we got a version early....

But how did you do to get EU to start... my version just dies after the intro movie...

Glad for any help or hints in this matter..

Go to the support forum and read the thread "Running Problems".
Usually, if it dies after the intro, it means that your machine is not switching resolution to 800 x 600. Try all in the thread mentioned and start with your resolution set to 800 x 600.

I can't imagine eu wouldn't work under xp, since it runs fine on win2000... are you sure it isn't some silly file access rights or something (eu needs to write some files while running)? Have you installed as admin and run as an restriced user? If that's the case simply apply 'full control' for your user/all users on the 'paradox' directory and then try start the game again.

Of course it COULD be real trouble, but it would surprise me.

It has been confirmed by a Beta Tester - EU2 *will* run without problems under Windows XP.

You need to run it in no audio. I had that problem in the last release. I am running it now with no problem. I am using the final release of XP pro.

Yup, EU II runs just fine on XP. No problems at all.

It is confirmed EU2 *will* run on Windows XP under normal mode.

I got EU to run on my new machine with Windows XP Home without doing anything special but the background music won't play. Not a big deal but is there something I can do to get it to play.
