EU2 and windows XP

Hi.
I have replaced my comp to a state of the art configuration, in which I installed windows XP.
I have installed EU2 with patch 1.04, and the game won't load at all. when I turn the task manager on i see that the aplication won't respond at all.
Any ideas how to fix that?

Most common problem under XP is the binkplayer app. Check in taskmanager and kill it if it's there. Then rename the AVI directory under the EU2 dir to anything else, and try starting up then.

Yeah. I think I saw that blinkplayer or something in the task manager when the game didn't load.

I will try it later, in the evening, and let you know if the problem persisted.

If You run EU2 under WINXP in compatibility mode -> WIN98/ME, blinkplayer works. Right click EU2 icon on the desktop, select properties, then You find the compatibility dialog window.
