EU2 CTD constantly on XP with 1.05 patch

I'm trying to run EU2 on my system that has XP. I mean I love this game but I can't do much of anything with it constantly crashing to the desktop about every year. Than it corrupts the save files at the same time. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times applying the 1.05 patch but still no luck. I've tryed it with the music off and at slower settings. And yes I've read the thread

My system specs are as follows
-Pentium 3 600 MHZ Processor
-512 MB SDRam
-GE Force 4 MX 440
-Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy MP3+
-Windows XP
-Soyo SY-6VBA 133 Motherboard
-52X CD-Rom Drive
-25.5 Gigabytes of free space in the drive EU2 is on

This is for the North American version of EU2 by the way. Please help me!

try to remove your Nvidia drivers and replace them by the newest ones:
http://www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/

this utility will remove them and you just have to install the newest ones after that. Follow the instructions, if you have any questions, let me know

I've got the most current drivers on it. I can try this but I don't think that will work. I'll let you know. Any other suggestions come to mind?

actually, that's the trick that has the highest success rate Nvidia drivers (like everything in Windows ) have a tendancy to leave bits behind when you uninstall them.

other than that, direct X could be a problem, but with your config and patch 1.05 of Eu2, I doubt it.

If you want to try it though, check the thread "Useful tools" and download DirectX buster.

Forgot, Ad-Aware and Regclean that you'll find on www.download.com can both be benefic to your system

Sorry it took a while

Sorry it's been a while, I tryed contatcing the technical support via email and have been getting ideas how to fix it for the past 2 weeks. Unfortunately, none of them work! I don't know if it's possible to do the Nvidia thing Viper from what I was told I can't uninstall the drivers that came with the graphics card. And so the next batch of drivers that I had to get were strictly add ons, there's no uninstalling of them anywhere. Because they need the former to work. Or something like that. I loaded it up on another computer we got and after experiencing the copy protection problem and getting it fixed it still runs extremely sluggishly. That's why I want my better computer to be able to fix it. You got any ideas again?

change your video card to "Standard VGA" and then run the utility, it will do the trick. then install the latest Nvidia reference drivers found on www.nvidia.com

it's about the only thing I can see for now.
