EU2 Deleted and not Uninstalled

I finally rediscovered my EU2 CD and was going to reinstall EU2, only to find that somebody had deleted the folder instead of uninstalling it, so the setup program thinks it's still installed. Tried uninstalling it with the 'Add or Remove Programs', which took it off the list, but Setup still thinks it's installed, and the CD's uninstall is looking for a "Install.log", which was probably deleted along with everything else. Any suggestions?

Run the registry editor:

start-run-regedt32 (win2k/xp)
start-run-regedit (win98/me)

Back up the registry to a file.

Search for all entries containing "universalis" and delete them.
