EU2 Display problem

I have a new pc and run my display at 1024x768 with the Nvidia settings. HOI2 and CK can adjust to these settings but for some reason it messes up EU2. There are issues with just changing to 800x600 before playing EU2 so is there some way to get EU2 to adapt.

I have limirted PC skills.

What do you mean by "messes up" ?

Sorry, by 'messesup' I mean it runs the game but the image is very indistinct and enlarged and only part of the screen can be seen at any one time.

Rename the AVI directory under the EU2 dir to something like AVI_OLD, and reboot.

Also, in what resolution are you playing EU2? It is set with eu2_settings.exe .

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

I think the problem is that I have got the display on my pc run by an Nvidia program. I will remove it and try again. I have the right patch and drivers.

I don't understand are you saying you are running NVidia drivers but do not have an Nvidia card?

Sorry I fixed it. It was the latest driver causing a problem with directx.

For other users of the GeForce3 ti200, from what I could find online the driver version 43.45 seems to be the best bet for avoiding weird issues with directx 9.0.
