EU2 Inistialisation failure - ATI X800 + Windows XP SP2

Hi,

I just got a new computer recently but EU2 doens't work anymore,

I updated EU2 up to the last version (1.08) and reinstalled the game twice.
I also updated Windows...

What I get is an error screen right after i m done selecting the game options, I already tried to desactivate Sound acceleration (I have DirectX 9.0c)

What should I do ?

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

It says : unhandled exception, your program must exists...

The casual WIndows error, I'm gonna try what Castellon said, thanks guys.

It works now... I disabled Norton Internet Security 2005 which seemed to be causing the error.
