Who is the best ever and in what category of skill!?

Disclaimer: This has no real meaning or seriousness and is by all means unofficial. I just kind of want to reconnect with some of the old players and see what the current views of the community are.

I nominate Belisarius for best economist and Damocles for most badass.

edit: P.S. Is Mowers still around?
 
Like all HOF's, this should probably only be open for membership a few years after retirement from the sport. I can't really comment on players who've been away that long...

That said, there are a few now playing who should be included - tactics change over time and patches change the game, but I think some of the games lately have seen the most competitive play ever.

My vote would go to Mowers for being the one who kickstarted the community.

beli and damo are long gone, times change

the only way to really know for sure is have damo-belli play again and get owned ;)

Last time Damo made a comback, he wasnt the extremely dominating player he had been a year before. Not to argue, he was still very skilled, but not to divine heights :p.

hes the most annoyng warmonger i know and hes very good to
 
I agree... in my long time of eu2 playing I haven't come across a more talented and risk taking player than KJ.

There's a couple of others with honourable mention too for their skill in the game (Tonioz/Drake), but their style of play is somewhat less domineering so ultimately KJ would get it imo.

Once you leave eu2mp a bit you use some skill too and others gets it in the meantime... so I'm not as good as I once was, and players like damo and beli would be rusty too (I remember the last time I played with them it showed).

I agree, kind of what i said in the earlier post, but not as explained :).

But the community changes over time too. Players are no longer as receptive to threats, there is a greater number of people who can spot out emerging powers and where they should focus their energies.
At the same time, it feels like people arent as persistent as they were before. Two stabhits and theyre down, more like.

my own experience says that at least dr.bob is better. ive only reacted (in c&c 3). :D
 
Its pretty easy to reach the ceiling on economic skill. The system isn't complicated enough, but I think Drake is the best economist I've played with, or Beli when he used to play.

K'shar I nominate for most dangerous diplomat, and possibly Ryo-ken

In war, Tonio, maybe K'shar, and Fredrik is also very good.
