Having managed to get a friend of mine nicely addicted to the joy that is EU2, we're planning a MP game this weekend.

My question is, given the "sleeping" nature of the AI, I usually reload the game every five years or so. I would expect that in MP games, the AI is even more prone for a few siestas...

So how does one work around this?

Is the "save game" determined by the host? Does the Host reload and everyone else joins in?

Any tips I need to be aware of?

Thanx

The host controls the save files. The host rehosts the game and the other player join in to load it. It probably isn't a good idea to save a reload just to wake up the AI in mp since most players don't like to wait for it to load, which of course that depends on your connections. A good way to get around this is to have the host zip the file and send it off to the other players. From there they can unzip the file into their save games directory and no loading troubles occur. This guide helps a lot for multiplayer newbies.

My appologies for not posting in the Multiplayer forum, didn't know it existed. Live and learn.

It was my intention to run a LAN based EU2 game this weekend (which is what led to the above question). Is that not possible?
Do all MP games require VNET?

Thanx for your patience
