Eu2 Slowdown

Hi, I have been playing EU2 the whole of last week, but just today I loaded a game and everything is running SLOW, even loading the main menu takes ages whereas in the past it loaded in a jiffy. Any ideas what went wrong? I have not touched the PC over the weekends as well.

Not really. There's no known problem of this nature in EU2.

Is it the only app running slow? Do ctl-alt-del and look at the task list, is anything occupying the processor?
