Hi all,
First, sorry if this problem has been issued somewhere else. I have read faq:s and some threads in this section but not found the solution to my problem.

I've been running EU2 Nordic version unpatched (1.02) for a while and it was running somewhat smoothly. Some crashes every now and then, but I could always restart from the latest save. A bit annoying, but I could manage. Last week I decided to make an upgrade with the Nordic 1.07 upgrade patch, which I downloaded from here. The installation went smooth without any problems and I started up the game. I started a new game in the Fantasia campaign and played for about 3-4 months and then the game crashes. After this, the game has crashed every time I try to start a new game, directly after clicking "start" button on Game setup menu. Without any message whatsoever.

My system specs: AMD K6 1.8GHz, 256Mb RAM, plenty Gb:s of hd-space, Windows XP, DirectX 8.1.

I have tried to reinstall the game and patch it on a different plocation with the same results.

Is this a known problem or is it just my system which doesn't meet requirements?

Follow the link in the self help thread that gives detailed instructions on uninstalling. Follow those then reinstall.

Also who is the publisher of your version, thier logo should be on the CD.

I guess I have Vision Park because I remember I get the Vision Park Elephant logo in the intro. I'm at work now and don't have the game at hand but I will check once I get home. I will also print the uninstall instructions and try installing again at home so if I get more problems I will report here.

Thanks for your quick reply!

Thanks again for the support. Changing name of the avi-folder did the thing. After following uninstall instructions and reinstalling the game with the patch I still had the same problem, but after changing the folder name everything runs smooth.

That's what I get for not telling you to try that first, which I do 90% of the time. :)
