Well dunk, in a nutshell. Germax (france) got mad and quit. It was very disappointing and a bit hypocritical in regard to the argument he was presenting. He was actually a superpower, and could dictate any type of demand against any one country. Therefore, DrDoom(austria), Marco(spain), Myself(england) declared war. It took all three of us 'just' to stand against him. This is not uncommon in world history, i.e. US and Britain and Russia against Germany during World War II. At a certain point he wanted out because he could see we would outlast him. He felt it was gamey because we ganged him. However, under the circumstances, it was realistic to the real world because super powers from the beginning of time have been ganged in real life. We made demands, which he was willing to accept, save a certain portion. So, therefore we said we will continue to war. Which we did. He did well, but against three countries he realized he couldn't outlast us all. We kept to our alliance which upset him. Noone would bow out so he could concentrate on any one country; we stayed firm in our alliance. The tide would eventually turn and was gradually doing so. However, he said that since he was beating up on Austria alone (he wasn't beating up on myself or spain too bad) that he(Austria) should peace out and it wasn't realistic. I beg to differ. In that rationale, Great Britain would have made peace with the Germans in world war II and not tried to use it's allies the US and Russian to outlast Germany. He got mad, and because we wouldn't peace out he quit. Now I think Germax is a nice person from what I can tell, and a good player, but I think that is uncalled for. I want him to rejoin us to be honest!!! He is good for our game. But he must realize if I was the super power, or Marco, or Mr Doom, then I would be allying against them to keep them in check so as to not be able to dictate the entire game. Our Venezuelan friend was on the verge of taking Inca provinces and with it, it's gold and therefore being light years ahead of all of us. It's disconcerting to see that he refused to understand this and when we didn't subscribe to his rationale, he would quit. Very disappointing to me because I enjoy playing with him and he is a good player as I stated before. I think we should try and renegotiate peace, and if a solution can't be met then we continue as we did at the point we ended. War is inevitable in this game and superpowers will always be kept in check to balance power among players.... Just my two cents. May be rubbish, but today's outcome was rubbish as well. Hope to see everyone next week and hope we can continue to play.
