Vanilla map is underrated. All the mapmods make the new maps far too rich and easy to play. Vanilla's where the challenge remains.

Aesthetically speaking, vanilla sucks though.

I agree, there is much for fight for the provinces in the vanilla map since in a war you can usually only demand a few provinces and in vanilla that hurts. On watk or whatever then 2-3 provinces aren't really worth fighting for unless it is rich in gold, has a cot or is strategically important.

Besides, I don't like the fact that all of Africa and USA is explorable on some maps. It doesn't belong in this game engine to have that much land colonized.

The vanilla map is a beautiful thing with smooth borders, to me the mapmods look way too cluttered with very ugly borders.

Having said that, I would love the entire world to be explorable/colonizable in vanilla.

This.

I wish they would adapt some of the EU3 notions to the EU2 game.

Sure, but when Im playing the game Id rather be spending a few hours looking at a nice piece of artwork than those............... things :D ;)
True, map design is also a matter of taste and style.

Take the advice of these hacks and play Vanilla if you just want a game.

But if you want the epic scope of true historical borders, a deep rich experience, and events play ExtraWATK or WATKABOI.
Also true, until now.
