EU3 registration Codes

I'm not sure where I should put this thread.

A friend of mine said he was trying to get the July 12 version, and he couldn't because he needed to register and put the game codes in, but he did not buy the game and whoever did (no need to go into detail) does not know them. Is there anyway to get him a new code so that we can have the same version to play multiplayer?

He had me post this because he said that if he posted it people might think that he pirated the game, and I don't know why anyone would think different now that I posted it, but that's why I'm posting this. :/

Since he got the game as a gift, he would need proof of initial purchase, ie a receipt from the original buyer.

There was a similar thread a few weeks ago.
As long as he has no proof of purchase he wont get any keys.

Um, you can get a screenshot of his account on Gamersgate/Steam/whatever having the game. That's usually proof of purchase enough. If it's a boxed Chronicles, he can make a forum account then use a post-it to put the name of his forum account on the box or something..
