You can force them to change their primary culture using a subject interaction but I'm quite sure they would then simply accept their old culture instead of converting it. If you're deadset on removing Dutch culture you'll probably have to do it yourself.

There are easier ways to prevent the revolt.
Move your capital to the Low Counties region. This will probably have to be in the Flanders area because you probably won't be able to move your capital into the HRE.

Or just remove provinces from the HRE, it's not like the emperor is going to be your friend anyway...

Quick question. Playing my first game as Castille I survived a civil war disaster, got the Iberian wedding, finished the reconquista and inherited Burgundy. It's 1465 and I want to colonize. I allied Portugal and France. What should I do with the lowlands? State them or sell them, or leave them as is. Is it feasible to keep France allied throughout the game? Anything to do I didn't think of?

It's usually better to kill Portugal instead of allying them, but as a first game I understand you want to keep them around.
It is possible to keep France allied if you max trust over 80.
As for the Lowlands, they are extremely valuable provinces and they give you a bridge into other lands and especially GB, so keep them. As for whether you should state them or not, it depends how many states you have, but I would advise you to state them if you can. Be careful however, there is a nasty chain of events regarding the Dutch independance, you should check it.

Keep the old Burgundian land, state it, and ensure that the Dutch revolt does not happen by keeping local autonomy above 1% or by moving your capital into the region.

I'm playing as Portugal and I really want the province of Galicia from castile, there is no reason I want it besides that I want nicer borders and because portu and galicia are similar in the real world. How should I do this? Ally france, make a claim and war? Maybe support rebels? Is there a way to ensure rebelion there?

You will have to fight them, preferably with large allies like France (and maybe Aragon). Supporting Galician rebels would work, but the stack from one province is too small to have a realistic chance at releasing Galicia (unless the entirety of Castile breaks to rebels).

Rebels would need to occupy more than 50% of their country, it doesn't matter which rebels they are

Then all rebel groups will enforce demands, also any small Galician stack (it might also be difficult to spawn them if they have only one province, Castile is likely to raise autonomy to counteract your spport)

It will probably not be enough, to be honest with you, unless they get into a disaster, maybe the Castilian Civil War

You're better off fighting a war for the one province, you don't need a lot of warscore

Okey thanks, just out of curiosity, how would I break them?

If you take Galicia then Castile wont like you any more. They want Galicia back. So you're not gonna be friends with Castile again. So thus if you go that direction. You better prepare to take the rest of Castile or you gonna end up in several nasty wars with Castile anyway - when Castile tries to take Galicia back.

Break Castile ? Get mighty allies. Like England, France and Aragon and go to war.

I would like to know why paradox didnt care about dynamic province names.
(They are in the common folder, so they de-ironman saves if you dare the edit that localisation file)

For example the latin entry have just 6 names. The funny fact is that even the home land provinces owned by Savoy, Milan and Venice at game start have english names.

I guess they are busy with coding serious stuff, but on workshop and even here on the forum there are MANY files of MANY dynamic province names made by modders and by people who have that mothertongue, so they are quite accurate.

The funny thing is that paradox staff should only COPY and PASTE those files in the vanilla folder, and the "problem" is gone. It would take less than 1 minute.

I always thought that we southern europeans were the lazy part of Europe: we prefer to eat, drink, party and monkey around probably because the hot climate, the landscapes and our traditions which bring us to spend time with people. (we have +1 diplomatic slot :) )

@Trin Tragula unless you are south european (in this case you can delay this request as long as you prefer :) ) what about copy and paste those already done dynamic names mods in the vanilla game? Thanks.

We have added new dynamic province names with basically every patch actually, many of them from the suggestions forum :)
There's only so much time though and they all need to be checked by the person adding them (not to mention adapted to any internal map changes we have going on).

If you have suggestions for more to add you can create a thread in the suggestions forum and we'll consider it.

As usual, DL the DLC in Steam, and load the game as usual. Your mods might be broken, so you should disable them.

A Novgorodian formed Russia would act exactly the same as a Muscovy formed Russia, or an Odoyev formed Russia.
