I'm tentatively looking at a colonial empire starting in Ibera for my next run. I like ambitious planning and I can always settle for less later, so let's assume I'm trying to go for One Faith.

Which country between Portugal, Castile and Aragon would you recommend?
What would 2-3 big moves for the first 100 years be?

I have a vague idea already, but I'm mainly brainstorming and looking for inspiration, so there really is no wrong answer. I appreciate any feedback!
 
I would actually say Aragon, fishing for an early Iberian Wedding ... Simply because they got a stronger starting leader and Castile can be bigger when integrated for free (via decision), than Aragon can be, also, More Achievements to chase
 
Hello, when playing mp earlier text messages from other players came 'on screen' (like in the dev clash)
However, now when someone sends a message in to the group, it does not show up on screen, instead I can only see the chat when I click on it in the left corner below.

How do I fix this so messages will be on screen again?
 
Kinda newbie question :

I as a nation having capital in new world, dow on colonial nation of European mother country. I found this counts as colonial war so it doesn't immediately trigger cn's cta mother country. Does anybody know what condition CN call her mother country? Length or WS or MOther country is on war etc?
 
Im talking about the book of the consulate of the sea modifier, which you get in a mtth 200 months IF you have the "Ruler" modifier, but now the event gives you a country modifier instead of a ruler one

So am I reading this right, it triggers with RULER modifier,instead of COUNTRY modifier?

I have a friend using a mac who is getting a daf8 checksum. He has steam and verified the integrity of local files. What should he do to play with me (windows user)?

EDIT: Found another post saying it's a known issue. Do we have an ETA?
 
This means they are special troops with extra fire damage, the same way mercs are green, banners are purple and cossacks are yellow.
 
Does someone know why I can't embrace the newest institution? I should not be primitive anymore after all. I reformed government with the help of english colony and I can now build ships and so on. I reported this as bug but got no answers. The tooltips talks about religion but my religion does not have reforming, the south americans can only reform the government as they are migratory countries unlike the andeans and central americans.

Is it normal that mercenaries maintenance with inflation<1%, -25% as Burgundy, -25% from admin ideas, -10% from defensive ideas, -10% from economy ideas, -10% from adviser, cost is 0,49 ducats, and my friends who is playing as Spain, only with defensive, is 0.51 ducats? Is there some problem or am i not getting it right?

prestige difference? is your friend having market leader in cloth (or wait, was it salt for merc maint)? there are loads of other modifiers able to affect mercenary maintenance.
 
Is there any point in taking exploration as Muscovy in Third Rome?
Prrrrobably not. (There might be exceptions relating to attempting world conquest if you don't have Mare Nostrum enabled.)
