I have recently purchased Europa Universalis and I am having trouble with it. The game works on my computer which is: Computer Model: Compaq 5304 MII 366 MMX Enhanced processor
-64 MB 400 Mhz syncDram Total System Memory
-4.3 GB Ultra DMA Hard Drive
-32X CD-Rom
-2x AGP with 3D Graphics
WIndows 98
----------
But it is extremely slow(when i say that 1 year is one minute it takes no where such a short time) I installed patch 1.02 the latest and now the game works even worse. It crashes constantly. What can i do to solve this problem. I listened to other suggestions and turned all of the background things in operation with ctrl+Alt+delete. The music is also off. Please tell me how i solve the problem please!!!!!
Without getting more megabytes.

I am afraid that you are going to have to get more RAM!
With 64MB the game is running virtually from the HDD. You may have noticed that the HDD is working almost non stop.
You should really get at least another 64MB. Memory is quite cheap nowadays and you will certainly need more for latest games as they become more memory hungry.
Sorry - but more RAM is the only real answer :(

I think that you can turn historical events off and this will avoid your PC a buttload of operations, but you will lose a lot of the game without historical events.
