I noticed the devs using a few new terminal commands in the recent stream, specifically relating to monarch power and other new features and flavour events. Might be worth putting a console command page up at some point. Stream was pretty good for new tidbits, I believe someone mapped the starting values of trade nodes from it in another post too.
There'll definitely be a console command page eventually; both the CKII and V2 wikis have that. Not sure there's much point starting one before the game is released though, as it won't bring much advantage; all console commands can probably be dumped to the log, as that's doable in CKII.

Made a new logo. Here's a before-after:

Not quite sure whether or not to keep drop-shadows.

Paradox has now given us written permission to use game assets on the wiki. All Paradox assets (primarily images) are copyrighted by Paradox and licensed to the wiki for use; using those assets in other places than the wiki is thus not necessarily legal, but something one would have to ask Paradox about. The following applies to all such assets: Copyright © 2013 Paradox Interactive AB. www.paradoxplaza.com
Anything created purely by editors (primarily text, but also some images) is owned by the wiki but can be used on other websites under the CC BY-SA 3.0 license. So if you want to use any assets owned by the wiki on other websites or for any other purpose you can do so without requesting permission as long as you give attribution and license it under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Tl;dr: Anything owned by Paradox, including game screenshots, is owned by Paradox and you'll have to deal with them when it comes to licensing. Anything owned by the wiki can be used for any purpose assuming you attribute it to the wiki and distribute it under the same license. Anything else on the wiki may be public domain or licensed under other agreements.

Every content page on the wiki has now had a version template added to it, so that once the game itself releases they'll be marked as outdated. This should make it a lot simpler to get the wiki accurate once the game releases.

In other news, we now have 80 content pages. Many thanks go to Mayernik311 for his massive help in keep the wiki up to date with the dev diaries.

Great initiative Meneth!!

I'll try to help once my exams are over
Great!

As longs as it's better written than 'Victoria2wiki' (ugh), then great!
Not sure if you know, but there's a new Victoria 2 Wiki opened a couple months ago, which is also hosted by me. By now it's a lot better than Paradoxian's was, though many of the pages imported from Paradoxian have not been rewritten yet. They are all categorized as imports though, so they're gradually being dealt with.

The EU4 Wiki starts from scratch though with my oversight, so there should be a lot less badly written articles :)
For an example/proof, see the CKII Wiki, as there I was involved from the very beginning unlike with the V2 one.

Right, so I'm planning to put up a front page of sorts for all the wikis, like Paradoxian has.
Any idea what I could call the wiki network? My best idea so far has been just "Paradox Wikis", but it's not the most exciting name ever.

I think Paradox Wikis is fine... clarity is the most important thing.

Alternatively you could just put the logos for the other wikis at the bottom of the front pages... as the logos themselves are self explanatory and prettier than plain text.
It's not certain Paradox will allow me to name it that though. So I'd prefer to have a backup without Paradox in the name as well.

I've updated all the wiki logos to correspond with the Paradox Wikis logos, as according to my tests they perform better, and most people I've asked have preferred them over the old logos.

I've also just launched a Hearts of Iron 3 wiki.

The wikis will be moved over to a better server tonight.
This may cause some downtime, in which case you have my apologies. The move should be entirely finished within a few hours of starting though, so the worst case scenario is a few hours of downtime.

Just joined the Wiki. I also got right into it and began a section called "Village Pump": http://eu4wiki.com/Village_Pump

It's the place on a Wiki where people can come together and discuss any issues-of-the-day, and ideas for site improvement. I broke it down into four categories:
  • Administration
  • Content
  • Technical
  • Miscellaneous
I am also reserving the namespace "VP:" for "Village Pump."

Also, Meneth, I uploaded the list above to this page:

http://eu4wiki.com/VP:Content#Top_100_Searches_.28Some_Without_Pages.29

It looks like perhaps only the first 25 actually had more than one hit, or all the rest had the same number, like 2 hits or something. Because other than the first 25 entries on your list, all the rest are in alphabetical order. 25 of the 100 in the list already have pages. But that gives us a good place to start from of the other 75.
I've moved it to the correct namespace. Not sure how much use it'll really get though.

Everything on the list had at least 2 searches for it.

I've reworked the wiki categories. The "features" category no longer exists, and has been replaced with the game concepts category.
Within it there are now four categories; military, economy, diplomacy, and realm. There's some overlap between them, but that's not really a negative.
The realm category is perhaps a bit large though, so if anyone has an idea for a category that would split off somewhere around half the pages in it I'm all ears.
And if anyone has any ideas for how to categorize the "map" page and the "scoring system" page that'd be great. I might move the scoring system page over to the EU4 category instead, as it isn't something with any actual in-game effect.

Good morning!

Looking over the changes you made, I was wondering why you moved my articles into the namespace, i.e., http://eu4wiki.com/Europa_Universalis_4_Wiki:Village_Pump, but most other articles, like "Map" are just "Map." I moved the rest of the VP: articles to the namespace to follow suit, but it looks like those are the *only* articles in the "Europa_Universalis_4_Wiki" namespace right now. Am I missing something?
The Project namespace is for anything unrelated to the game, community, and all that; that is, things that purely have to do with the wiki itself.
You can see all pages in the namespace here. As you can see there are several pages in there other than the VP pages. Though due to the community around the wiki itself being quite small there's not much of a need for all that many Project namespace pages.

The map page on the other hand has to do with the game itself, so is in the main namespace.

Sorry for breaking some of your internal links though; that was not intended.

Ah! That makes sense. Thanks. Also... I was just adding some pages about Occupation and War Score and -- woah! -- they just moved out from under me to your Warfare page! :D
Yeah, I'm trying to avoid the mistake Paradoxian made of unnecessarily splitting up pages. If a page would only be a few paragraphs, it is usually better to include it on a larger page. It can then be split off later at need if it actually grows to a major size.

Oh and here's every term that's been searched for at least twice in the last 7 days (including today):

I just took a stab at expanding this page: http://eu4wiki.com/Europa_Universalis_IV

You can see that there are a lot of basic pages that we still need:
  • Paradox Development Studio
  • Paradox Interactive
  • terra incognita
  • royal marriage
  • sue for peace
  • annexation
  • Clausewitz 2.5 Engine
The first two are needed, yeah. You might be able to port those over from the Vic2 Wiki or one of the others.
TI is unnecessary; that can easily be mentioned on the map page itself. I've set up a redirect.
Royal marriages are definitely needed, yeah.
Sue for peace goes under warfare. I'll set up a redirect.
Same with annexation.
I don't think there's any real point to having a page for the engine. it can be mentioned on the Paradox Interactive page.
