A situation keeps happening in the latest beta patch that I can't stand and now am going to script my own event to prevent. I was pretty good at scripting custom events for Victoria, but Victoria (no offense to CK people) is a heck of a lot easier to make events for.

Essentially, I would like to have an event that checks to see if Rome is in Catholic hands, but not the Pope's, checks to see if the Pope exists (Papal States), and if so, prompts the Christian state to return Rome to the Pope. If he does, he gets a huge piety boost, possibly a slight prestige penalty, and maybe even becomes Papal Controller.

If he doesn't, he should suffer a massive piety hit, plus gain a little prestige.

Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to get this event to recur or even occur the first time.

Is this possible as an event?

By the way, this would be a lot easier if CK simply allowed me to grant titles to other rulers or vassals who aren't my own. This simple change would also allow me to help liberate Asia Minor for the Byzantines (which happened during the First Crusade) and keep the AI from forming crazy cross continental empires (like England owning Egypt).

That explains why I couldn't it figure it out. How odd.

You cannot give titles from one character to another within current CK event engine.
