Hi!

I'm playing the newest version of the mod with CK2 2.4.4.

One thing I've noticed is that many rulers sit with massive Event Spawned troops of like 30,000 units all the time, even when they're doing absolutely nothing. It really doesn't make sense for a duke with 2 counties to have 30,000 troops when as I the Latin Empire have barely 80,000.

How do I make the troops despawn?

You can't.

I've never seen "many rulers" with event troops that don't go away, and none with 30,000 troops -- outside of, say, a very successful prepared invasion viking force (though they'll go to war in short order, anyhow, or go away on their own).

Are you using additional mods? Do you have the correct checksum? If so, I'd like to see this save with 30,000 event troops everywhere.

I have only CK2 Plus, though he checksum doesn't actually match for some reason, even though it did last time i played. The issue was still present then. Apparently it's gotten better as the years have gone by(in-game) but there's some armies that have been around forever.

Also apparently im really bad at PrintScreen and pasting stuff to Paint so sorry about the top part of each screenshot.

The Hakamids have had those 21,000 troops for 3 generations now.

Not having the correct checksum is worrisome, though from the screenshots it looks like these might be leftover troops from nationalist revolts. I'll take a look.

This guy 'liberated' Wessex 27 years ago, he still has his event spawned troops.

ps: They are inherited too.

If you have a save handy, or any other where event forces are being inherited, that would be lovely.

The way the nationalist event forces are supposed to work is that one-third of them remain after the war ends, and they cannot be inherited (so they should disappear once the original holder dies). If the cannot_inherit command is suddenly not working (it certainly did previously), that would be excellent to know.

EDIT: Checking it out with newly-spawned troops, the command works fine. The troops stick around until the ruler dies. So I'd need a save to see where these troops are coming from.

And, please -- don't ignore the request for a checksum. If you don't have the correct checksum, I won't look into this.

I play with VIET+ and the Your Personal Castle mod, so my checksum is off anyway. I just thought that it would be a weird coincidence that I have the same thing happening as Xionor, so why not show a screenshot.

That's fair -- though, in your case, I'd like to know why you say "they are inherited". The screenshot you showed is the guy who did the liberation revolt, and he should have those event troops until he dies. I'm more interested in the screens of those who have event troops but clearly weren't the revolters themselves, if you can't provide a save.

Well, that guy was an ally of an enemy of mine. I could not not beat him, so I killed him via the console. His heir inherited the event troops.

Screenshots:
first heir has 15% less troops:

Heirs after that keep the troops:

Hm. That's odd. I spawn troops with that command, console kill the ruler, and they don't get inherited.

What I'd need is a save with those permanent troops in play, one begun with the correct checksum, and I could check it out. Otherwise there's not much for me to do.

Taking a look, there are two different realms there with a large amount of event forces -- the one you're at war with has about 24k.

He's a liberator from a nationalist rebellion, but only around 2k of his forces are actually remaining from that...and those forces correctly disappear when he dies. The other 22k, however...I have no idea where they come from. They are event forces without an earmark. They *may* have been reinforcements acquired during the rebellion, as I notice those come without an earmark.

I'll see if I can fix it. Thanks for the save.

Hi!
Have you managed to fix this problem yet?
I've been following the recent patch notes but can't recognize anything related to it.

It was in the patch notes, but I forget which one. It's definitely fixed, and as of the last beta patch the vanilla bug where event troops always reinforce is also gone.
