I have never played MP so I wouldn't know and will take your word on it but I just don't see it. Lets say as Spain I have Central American and the Incas and I try expanding into India. Even if an Asian nation prevents me from doing that it won't damage me much at all. I guess I just see the great distance between respect capitals as a handicap for the Asian nation. With all my colonies and I just can't see there provinces making up for it. Plus I can just as easy take there trade from them. I just don't see how they can fight back.

But I digress. Either way I don't care. So lets just have some fun today and if we do end up having eight players then this game just got alot more interesting.

i dont want an asian power, and your claim that europe is to crowed? there 6 nations being played!, in dad there were 12 european powers!

Of course one could have 12 players in Europe but honestely could Sweden compete with Russia England or Germany at this point ? Europe is not crowded because there are so many players but because most AI nations are already conquered and any new nation in Europe would have to fight an uphill battle against a number of already established nations.

Persia might be a bit too near towards the Ottoman Empire but adding the Mughals would add a lot more flavour than Sweden wich at this point will be reduced to a mere continental competitor.

I'll have a look at what is Asia looking, if it is not too desesperate I might choose the Mughals as I already played with them in AGCEEP. Some events can lead to the Orthodox tech group wich is respectable.

Beleive me or not, in this game I had completed the land techs before France reached the 'revolutionary' step. Will be different in MP, I can accomodate of Portugal well as it doesnt realy have to play an huge role in Europe and can spice up the things all over the world.

Either way it sounds good. The only reason I suggest Sweden is that you need competition in the North, unless Mats decides he wants to take all of the North for himself but then that is an problem right there. I suppose things are fine as is. But with Russia non factor at the moment England is going to get quite large quite fast and once he gets those uber Admirals of his I don't see how any of us can touch him.

Aww I have just caltulated the hours, 19:00 CET = 13:00 EST and I can only play the evenings. :(

Sorry for having wasted your time and have a good game. :)

Oh well. So we are back on to where to place jdfess. If Sweden, they would need a bit of edits to make playable. I suggest

1. Break vassalization to England.
2. Edit land tech to 9.
3. Stability to +3.
4. Give them up to 20 warships.
5. Break alliance with England.
6. 400 ducats.

It would kick-start them a little.

Sorelus, you must edit the land/naval sliders of ALL played nations back to 5. Also add cores on player nations' capitals for all player nations.

Okay well. The disagreement at the start I hope has been worked out. After we got back in I found this session to be quite fun. I was on the losing end of my first war with England (Lost somewhere along the lines of 30-40 ships) but then I think I evened that out in the last one. France was smacked around quite a bit but I sure she will recover. The OE made some substantial gains in Europe and elsewhere and, as is the trend seems to be the real winner this session.

Nice gaming session. Also glad we actually managed to solve an issue for once. But that's irrelevant as the gaming is why we're here. And that we did!

Stats .

England didn't fare that well, however. Religious trouble with three different faiths now makes things difficult. Two attempts at taking maps failed, one more than the other. Eventually it turned out France isn't that powerful after all. OE pushed Germany for what they could, and Germany went into France as a consequence. Spain got more control of Italy, and now can match England on the seas. However, Elizabeth just took the English throne....

yeah it was a nice session

but France not being powerful? France is mostly alone and unexperienced
i sometimes get these "good ideas" and peace out to soon with Germany, or to late, if you will

i could have won that war. maybe.

but i call for allies as the Habsburg alliance is to strong to take on alone.

if everyone is gonna be Germany's pet, France will become the Hunter.
Vive la Monarchie!

germanies pet? now your acting like your germanies only enemy:p while the ottoman horde fought the real battles you were slacking in the first war:p

This is a dark time for poor France. With Germany an enemy and Spain not to friendly Europe is just a bit hostile for her. After that stunt with England I just can't imagine whats left of the Royal Navy coming to France's Rescue anytime soon.

I just think that it might be time to play a bit more diplomacy.

R3lic, do you even read the stats? The "spoils" of the Royal Navy is merely 16 warships under the Armada. It's not even one years income.

I'm quite happy with Russia's progress. The East is now open to us and our rightful provinces in Europe are all ours now!

My economy is getting better and my gap in tech is slowly becoming less pronunciated.

The only problem is my 13 BB, which I have no idea how I got it. All I did was fight rightful wars and take rightful provinces.

Anyway, you all just stay out of the steppes and kill each other. Mother Russia cares not!
