Currently, it is not possible for evolutionary predator species to be modified genetically.
This includes integrating with their own species.

If migration pacts are signed it is inevitable that you will end up with some of your own species who are not as advanced floating around.

I suggest that integration back into the default species be allowed for evolutionary predators as it makes sense for how they operate.

What? Yes it is. Just change the species variant of yours with all your traits to be the default one, the set the other variants to integrate.

When I do this it shows them as integrating, but it doesn't actually seem to do anything, as in the species are not actually integrating (this really became an issue when I got a random trait outside of adaptive evolution ie. inner darkness, and wanted to keep that trait). Also becomes an issue with pre-sapient children.

I was able to set a template into default, and all subspecies to "integrate". So... Either I have some buggy version or You are lacking something

It will integrate all subspecies upon the conclusion of the situation. This is actually why the Inner Darkness trait gets lost (which is very sad, don't get me wrong).
So some traits will be impossible to keep as evolutionary predators? This would be more obvious if the pre-ftl children also got merged into the most advanced version instead of having 14 different groups of them (and if integrating and setting a default species was not allowed as it doesn't do anything)

Did you only read the first post? OP admitted they didn't have a tech two down from top.
