Newbie question - expeditionnary force

Hi all,

I am new to HoI and to that forum as well. I apologize in advance if I am describing below a well-known bug/feature... But at least I did not find it in the manual nor in the forum search.

I made a test game playing as Turkey, staying neutral until almost the end of the game (hey, at least I survived ;) ! ). I had a five armored divisions corps that I sent as expeditionnary force to UK in 1945. At this time, UK was controlling most of Africa. For whatever reason, they sent this corps towards south-east of Africa. And then, before arriving at destination (50% travel done) my 5-unit corps became a 1-unit corps. On the same province, I could see a new british corps (with a UK leader) formed of the 4 remaining divisions (still turkish names) !!! Of course I could not recover control of that corps, only of the poor 1-unit one...
How is it possible?

If you keep expeditionary forces down to corps size (three divisions or less) you shouldn't get this problem.

Being able to send expeditionary forces to non-allied countries is the real bug in this situation. About the only example I can think of was the Spanish Blue division and that would be best handled by an event, like the "volunteers" in the Spanish Civil War.
