Exploration, Taxes, Taking Over Countries (NOOB HELP)

I just bought this game from a friend who did not want it anymore and well, there is no manual so I can really use some help:

1) How do I raise and lower Taxes?

2) I declared war on a country and attacked a province. Won the battle and it says, "The Province Is Controlled By ME" "The Province Is Owned By Enemy" - - - I cant built any military or such on the province until I Own as well. How do I do THAT?

3) I want to explore but some of my ships wont go as far to the Americas. Its says I need Explorers. How Do i get explorers and how do I deploy them to a certain area?

U don't raise taxes per se. The game takes care of that urself. U can influence the tax income by being at a high stability.

U have to settle wars in peace treaties in which provinces can change hands. the more provs u control, the more stars u get and the more u can ask.

Explorers arrive at historic times or random. They're leaders with a special symbol and to use them just send them into the white terra incognita which they will then uncover.

You can't. However there are a ton of other methods to get money. To name a few: send more merchants to CoTs, build colonies/trading posts, war taxes, building tax collectors/chief judges, manufacturies, war reparations, improving tech etc.

Besides explorers, you can also invest in naval tech. Once you reach a certain level (forgot which level, think its 11) all your ships can act as explorers and explore unknown sea zones. If you play as Portugal every ship can explore unknown sea zones starting from day 1. Actually the best way to get maps is to capture another country's (usually Portugal or Spain) capital. Or get lucky and capture the maps from a naval victory.

Thanks alot but I need help once again:

I dont have that many options under Diplocmy... I can only offer peace, trade maps and ge into royal marriages...how can i get the other options?

On top of that diplomacy box thingy on the left of ur screen u can toggle to the other mode. Round buttons.

Thanks again but I have yet another problem:

My EU keeps crashing to the Desktop...I download the Newest Patch but it says that EU is not installed on the computer...could some one tell me the exact directroy name so i can rename it or move it or something? Or any solution to my problem?
