I don't want to be that guy, but honestly the only mod I want is an extended Timeline mod similar to that of eu4. I understand it would be difficult, will the necessity for map changes, trade reworks, and the like. In truth I'm just wondering if anyone is working on one, and would like assistance.

Has anyone completed the extended timeline mod yet? I don't see one listed in the avail mods provided by paradox. I just want to be able to play the game the way I like. slowly and not have to worry about taking to long and hitting the hard end date.

If your main concern is not running out of time you can change the end date easily.

It's located in //ImperatorRome/game/common/defines/00_defines.txt right at the start of the file .
Changing the end date will take effect the next time you start a new game.

You can make it into a small mod to prevent it from being overwritten with game updates.

Thanks for the info. Is this for the steam version? I have been playing the game pass version and cant find the defines file and it does not seem to create a mod when I try. No file is created.

Yeah, I think the game pass version is Win10 only and might be configured differently.
I apologize - I cannot find anything specific about its file structure.

Do you still have a mod folder located in your Documents?
On Win7 it's located in \\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Imperator\mod\ .

I created a small mod that moves the game's end date to the year 2000.
I attached it as a .ZIP file below here.
You can extract it into \\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Imperator\mod\ .

After extracting the .ZIP file the \mod\ folder should look have:

a folder called LaterEndDate |[ full path inside: LaterEndDate\common\defines\00_defines.txt ]|
a file called LaterEndDate.mod

Then it should be visible in the game's Launcher.
---------------------
I've included the whole defines file with just the end date changed because
I can't find a way to just do a line edit and not have to overwrite the whole file.
So if you have any other mods that change the defines file, this will conflict with those.

Thanks for the files. I am still working on if they are working. I did find the mod folder. What is crazy is that it makes me create a folder for the mod ( i.e. Imperator\mod\EndDate) in mod tools but then I puts the file in the root folder (.ie \imperator\mod). I truly tempted to buy the steam version but at $39.99 I am not sure I want to send the $. ALl iwant is to be able to extend the timeline. I don't use any other mods.

I have been trying to change the start date too to just make sure it is working and I still keep getting a start date of 450. It a shame there just isn't a predone mod I could download or an option by the developers to continue the game.

Since the Game Pass version doesn't have access to Steam Workshop for mods, Paradox has their own mod website:
https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/games/imperator_rome

It recommends the user download mod files directly to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Imperator\mod\

I went looking there and tried to replicate the folder and file structure of an existing mod, to make it work on a Game Pass version of the game. But then I can't get this version to show up in the Launcher at all.

There's very little information available online, or that I can find, for troubleshooting the Game Pass version and mods.

I agree the Gamepass support is very lacking. I have put in a support ticket but I read that that support is supposedly very lacking too. I really want to get into playing the game again with 1.2 but I stopped play last time because of the end date. I appreciate your help. Maybe I will get lucky and they will have a great steam sale soon and it will be 75% off

Wow, I have still have had no luck with finding anyone with gamepass mod experience. They don't really support it even though it is included. This is a joke. It even worse for me on trying to rush in 1.2. I thinking I may be done with the game if I cant figure this out soon. I tired of hitting the enddate.
