After researching extractor AI breakthrough and setting your unmanned extractors to work all shifts, the game thinks you need 12 geologists per extractor. With how the breakthrough works it encourages you to build a large number of weak unmanned extractors all over the map.

Then martian universities set on auto will train several dozens of geologists for you that will never get appropriate job. And there is no way for them to ban geologists.

Improving the UI for universities to make manual controls convenient can solve the issue. Or alternatively extactor ai can be made a cheap upgrade that does not require workforce.

Right click to work spots, they’ll be redder out and should be blocked. I think. Now that you mention it I don’t actually know if this would work??
