Ok, this is extremely annoying. After the whole map is revealed (some time in the 1700s) extreme lag (i.e. under heavy workload) hits the host computer in a MP game, making the game pretty unplayable. We have had problems with lag before this date as well, but not to this extent. The host, however, does not experience any lag whatsoever.

The 1.03 patch fixed the pre 1700 lag somewhat. Did not play a post 700s game before this patch, so I can't tell if it did something to it.

Here's our set-up:

Host:
AMD Tbird 900Mhz
768 Mb RAM
Geforce 2 GTS 32Mb Video

Player 1:
(Laptop)
Intel P3 500Mhz
256 Mb RAM
ATI 8Mb Video

Anyone else got the same problem? Any suggestions how to work around this?

If you can get more RAM into that laptop I'd make it the host. IMO the slowest machine should always be host, so there is no problem with the slaves keeping up.
