Twice now, I cussed and spit as I loaded save games only to have them stuck in the Diplomacy screen/map. I could not get back to the normal map no matter what I did. I've heard of others who have also been stuck in the Trade screen/map. Anyway, in case no one has posted this before, all it is a simple edit of the savegame(notepad works fine). Very near the bottom of the file there is a value called interface...mine was stuck on 5 (diplomacy) so I changed it to 1 and saved the file. Loaded the savegame and it worked beautifully. Good luck!
