• We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
It's been a busy few weeks! We have welcomed new recruit Elest to the dev team, who has been helping us push forward in areas where progress had previously been slow. And veteran member Teneb has returned to help us with events development as well.

Without further ado, let me introduce our 100th experimental release! It's a big one, including:

Events:
  • Idle courtiers may go adventuring or raiding
  • Physician-missionary removed
  • Eladrin may sometimes switch to follow the Seldarine
Decisions:
  • Decision to turn a commonwealth vassal into a merchant republic
  • Mass sacrifice option introduced
Councillors:
  • Default chaplain activity is now encouraging vocations, not hunting heretics. Hopefully an end to inappropriate burning at the stake!
Titles:
  • Scarlet Scourge orcish holy order added
History:
  • Vassal rework in Mulhorand
  • Namshita now becomes landed as the only non-dragonborn Thymari leader
  • Eltab and Soneillon both have bloodlines
  • Ugewood changes to Uzbeg when appropriate
Wonders:
  • Menzoberranzan and Airspur now have wonder-cities
Graphics:
  • Several new event pictures
Optimisation:
  • Combat tactics tidied up
  • More casus belli brought into line with CleanSlate
  • New scripted trigger for flying
  • More scripted triggers for character classes
  • Several complex sections refactored
  • Old Gods adventurers reworked
  • More recursive events use 'repeat event'
  • Some buildings brought into line with CleanSlate
  • Definitions of 'True Outsider' and 'Native Outsider' adjusted
Gameplay:
  • Raiding will give XP more consistently
  • Newly spawned commanders are likely to have relevant character classes
  • Heads of faith will no longer demand you dismiss heathen councillors
  • Elven liches will not retreat unless they are baelnorns
  • Non-mammals will not suffer most negative effects of pregnancy
  • Mercenaries may only employ engineers if landed
  • Enatic mercenary companies should get female courtiers
Bugfixes:
  • Granular congential traits included properly in lots of places that used to skip them
  • Ziss'thiss will not mysteriously vanish
  • Booga's children are of her dynasty
  • Imbrar Heltharn will remain young forever (but as he's undead, he's not a pretty sight)
  • Zealot voting corrected
  • Viking invasions adjusted to correct pathfinding bug
  • Scopes tightened up in a few places
  • Kraken Society malenti invaders won't pretend to be aboleths
  • Missing loc added
  • Many others
As ever, have fun with it. I'm especially keen to hear feedback about the adventuring courtiers and the new chaplain job - do they work, are they too much?

Best,

nd

Congratulations on the 100th Experimental. Here's my customary bug/suggestions post, this time with 100 entries:

- Probably fine, but the time it took to load into the game after selecting a character is quite a bit longer than I remember it being in the past. Doesn't seem to affect loading back into a save, so presumably it's just whatever you're firing on_startup/on_chronicle_start the first time, and I don't think it really hurts to have a little extra time there.

- Not sure if intended: I can use Pagan County Conquest on same religion targets, which is inconsistent with vanilla (note: I've modded Pagan Subjugation to be more restrictive in its targeting, so you'll see a much more yellow map if you load in).

ck2_1.png

- Are you supposed to see "Open Rituals Menu" in the "Reform Government" menu?

ck2_2.png

- Is the "Adopt Magocratic Government" decision really different from the "Adopt Feudalism" decision... and should I really see that as an Utgardt character?

- Something seems rather strange with the event options here; why would I consider telling someone I consider them a friend to be mockery?

ck2_4.png

- The unit position here might need adjustments.

ck2_6.png

- Not sure I should have hedge knights visit me as a Tribal Utgardt character.

ck2_7.png

- Characters that are scripted as absent should perhaps not be permitted to startup_populate societies.

ck2_9.png

- Very minor, but perhaps there should be a dedicated "On an Adventure" trait for this. Also, I definitely like this addition; the old adventurer system was very event spammy for the player even when you didn't go yourself, so I rarely bothered to use it. Wouldn't mind seeing it fire more often, however.

ck2_10.png

- The new adventurer events should perhaps have stricter conditions on those picked; one of the people going off on the adventure above was both Content and Craven.

- Not sure the icon for the Holy War CB is correct here (I'm Arcane, if it matters).

ck2_11.png

- I held a Grand Tournament that should have been interrupted by a civil war, but the "Tournament ends early due to war" event didn't fire, the event chain didn't continue, and the decision isn't visible in my decisions list. Something would appear to be broken.

- Not sure if Lolthites make good Heralds or not.

ck2_12.png

- Presumably vanilla: There's a perfectly good rat icon to use for this one.

ck2_13.png

- The age condition for this event option might need to be looked at.

ck2_14.png

- Not sure this event picture makes sense when the characters are friendly.

ck2_16.png

- Perhaps Great Align host leaders should be flagged not to convert, at least when they are Celestials/Fiends? This guy hasn't, so far, but knowing the CK2 AI he might...

ck2_17.png

- Not sure if something buggy has happened here, seeing as I can't really see why this character would engage in necromancy.

ck2_18.png

- This feels rather heretical. Should the Mulhorandi really get to kill their own avatars and ascend?

ck2_20.png

- Missed taking a screenshot, but I got a presumably vanilla event about embarrassing myself in front of my children (plural) as a Drunkard. I only have one living (and zero undead) children, so the localisation feels off.

- Inherited these from a vassal. Perhaps they should have some restrictions on where they spawn, as Nimbral and nearby areas aren't really wintery.

ck2_21.png

- Vanilla: This event should presumably not shift you directly from Humble to Proud or directly from Gregarious to Shy.

ck2_22.png

- Presumably vanilla: This character has been in the oubliette for a long while, and is presumably not particularly well fed as a result.

ck2_23.png

- Perhaps the localisation should be different if someone leaves with a smaller party and thus comes back with the full party even if it is "just two/one companion(s)"?

ck2_24.png

- Related to the above, maybe smaller parties should have a small chance of meeting someone that joins the party during the adventure and bringing them back?

- Vanilla, but perhaps foreigners shouldn't care at all about your vassal war laws?

ck2_25.png

- I wouldn't say artefact balance is easy, but I kind of feel these two would differ by more than one tier as currently statted.

ck2_26.png

ck2_27.png

- Perhaps this event option (this is the child mystic from the RIP Eternal Life event chain) needs to be reworked, considering religious tolerance is the norm in the Realms.

ck2_28.png

- Vanilla: Apparently you can get zero ingredients (presumably, this fired because a simultaneous trip to the market gave me seven ingredients), which doesn't match what the event describes.

ck2_29.png

- Just noticed that my former character's reincarnation (from the Eternal Life event chain) doesn't have the relevant trait.

ck2_30.png

- There appears to be some conquests going on in the Hordelands that might be Nomadic Duchy Liberation conquests despite there not being castles or cities in the counties. I suspect the CB might be valid against duchies where *any* realm has a castle/city in the province, which seems weird.

ck2_31.png

- I kind of feel "Encourage Vocations" should allow for classes other than divine casters (excluding any that are considered unacceptable for the given religion, e.g. arcane casters for Utgardt). Not only are there deities that approve of other things (e.g. Mystra and magic for Arcane), but it feels like you risk ending up with rather too many divine casters compared to other classes if you can only get divine casters.

- Vanilla: Presumably adventurers (in the raiding/invading sense) shouldn't have labs that can be raided, seeing as they've left their homes and presumably labs behind.

ck2_32.png

- Perhaps the "Expelled Gurs" icon should be replaced?

ck2_34.png

- Two possible issues here: I am already a Genius, so expanding my mind wouldn't do anything (outside of presumably driving me mad if I fail), and all the options say you'll grow stronger/weaker/healthier, which doesn't really sound like beauty or intelligence.

ck2_35.png

- I just noticed that the holder of the Arcane Brotherhood title (who isn't particularly high in the society...) didn't care at all about me claiming the title. It feels like the sort of thing that should make them a bit upset.

- This event offers up "the Fairest in [province I am in; should probably be your capital...]" and "the Fair"... for my Plain son. Should probably be based on traits, given that it is not meant to be mocking or ironic.

ck2_36.png

- Something odd might be going on here; as far as I can determine, there's no reason for this character to have a claim or CB to take over the Zhentarim.

ck2_37.png

- Vanilla (and also CleanSlate, it seems): I can spread vile rumours about someone while I'm in seclusion, and then head to duel them while still being in seclusion... and turning it down has them show up at my court to duel me despite them being under siege. Should be blocked if either party is at war or is inaccessible/incapalbe/imprisoned.

ck2_38.png

ck2_39.png

- "Hunting accident" murder plots should perhaps get a new event option, seeing as "To hunt man is the greatest sport" is perhaps unfitting against certain targets.

- Unsure if this event option (from the Intrigue focus "Spy on" events) should be reworked; presumably crossdressing would be less of an issue in the Realms, though I suppose it perhaps could be presented in a fashion that'd be frowned upon even there. Similarly, the event about "upsetting sexual preferences" is also a bit iffy; there's certainly stuff that'd be objectionable in the Realms, but given that the option picked for the rumour is random and that the conditions are fairly broad (I see you've restricted it a bit further than vanilla; good!) it can look very out of place when it supposedly is a (mostly) legitimate rumour discovered by your trusted agents.

ck2_40.png

- I can see and use the decision to claim the Arcane Brotherhood despite already having claimed it.

ck2_41.png

- Something might have broken with the Intrigue focus' "Spy on" murder attempt; I got the "Success!" event, but the character I'm spying on wasn't killed, nor was anyone else killed.

- Considering the historical Shou Lung emperors don't use historical Chinese temple names, should their successors really use those?

ck2_42.png

- For some reason various adventurers' ships spawn off Farhaven. This delays their invasions if they're not close and they need those ships, so it feels detrimental.

ck2_44.png

- I feel the Arcane Brotherhood could use more things to spend their society currency on, or should gain a bit less society currency, considering you eventually will be able to stack quite a lot from burning other people's labs, and with the long cooldowns on everything but the "Stressed/Depressed cure" potions and those being rare you're unlikely to use all of it.

ck2_45.png

- Further blobbing into nomadic land. In this case, it doesn't look like the "Castle/city in other realm" cause is there.

ck2_46.png

- A minor MR suggestion: Perhaps patricians should get the opportunity to offer to buy a city (vassal) from a ruler that's deep in debt? It'd give them another unique mechanic, and would perhaps be of interest for both parties.

- Launder Funds should perhaps scale more with both wealth and prestige; a five year cooldown to turn 100 prestige into 70 gold (at the time I was writing this) when you make several times that amount of gold in a year is generally underwhelming, so unless you are far in the red there's little reason to take the decision if powerful enough, making the Shadow class less appealing for powerful enough rulers.

- Probably vanilla, but it feels a bit odd to write this book when you don't have a daughter.

ck2_47.png

- The first two options in this event seem to have the same drawback, but the first one seems inherently better. Unsure what's up with that.

ck2_48.png

- Not sure how this raiding adventurer managed to pull that one off, considering her lack of a class level and lousy PCS.

ck2_49.png

- Presumably vanilla: Should a friend (or lover) really start an adventure against you? Yes, he is Ambitious, but overall he doesn't strike me as the "Stab your friend in the back" kind of guy.

ck2_51.png

- The actual adventurer war also didn't fire for the above adventurer, which perhaps indicates that something still is broken with adventurers. He kept on running off and trying over the decades, and it always failed to fire.

- Weird capitalisation of "philosopher Queen". Presumably vanilla.

ck2_52.png

- Forgot to screenshot it, but the Portal to the Lower Planes (and the Portal to the Elemental Planes?) modifier needs maintenance "after decades of use" even if you perform a new Arcane Experiment and renew that modifier. Feels like you either shouldn't be able to renew the modifier or that the event only should fire if you've not renewed it in decades.

- Not sure why this claims I'll lose gold (I didn't actually); wrong scope on the tooltip?

ck2_53.png

- This nickname strikes me as a bit odd for this character.

ck2_54.png

- The Zealot pattern's war logic might need to be looked at; this isn't strictly speaking a religious enemy as much as a target with a different religion, and this character does not appear to be Zealous or opposed to the target on patron grounds.

ck2_55.png

- There might be some event result in improper marriages; the Queen of Wealdath's parents were married Seldarine half-siblings.

ck2_56.png

- Behifet seems a tad too revoke-happy...

ck2_57.png

Reactions:
Part 2, because there's a limit to images/attachments:

- Not sure if WAD: I can't press my fabricated claims on Agnatic titles as a woman. Looks consistent with CleanSlate but NOT with vanilla, and the Realms care a lot less about gender... and considering that a lot of expansion will be claim-related (at least unless you play with the JD blobbing CBs on) it feels a bit restrictive to block strong claims on those grounds.

ck2_58.png

ck2_59.png

- Not sure this condition needs to be in the Realms; presumably, this was added in vanilla because "Sway the Pope and have him excommunicate people" was too powerful.

ck2_60.png

- Two things: SPECIAL_TROOP_MORALE is missing, and I don't see why my (now deceased in an "unfortunate accident") Halruaan Arcane vassal far from Kara-Tur would have any Sohei in her employ.

ck2_63.png

- This event, fired from my Famous Artist bloodline, should probably spawn an actual Bard.

ck2_64.png

- This event should probably involve e.g. a Sorcerer or a Warlock.

ck2_65.png

- Probably vanilla: My non-de jure vassal is fabricating a claim on my primary title rather than the the de jure liege title that I hold.

ck2_66.png

- Archfiends (and the like) should probably not trade in their fancy nicknames for "the Conqueror".

ck2_67.png

- Possibly vanilla: I'm starting a feast, but that doesn't count for "Not feasting" for going into hiding.

ck2_68.png

- Something weird has happened with the first bloodline's tooltip.

ck2_72.png

- Apparently raiding adventurer hosts' raiding is more lucrative than I had imagined. I doubt it is an overflow/underflow error, but something odd might have happened, seeing as this guy doesn't seem like someone that has inherited from a family or that was a wealthy landed ruler and got deposed (no claims).

ck2_73.png

- I don't think this event should involve an imprisoned traitor (or an otherwise inaccessible or incapacitated ruler).

ck2_76.png

- Vanilla: Should perhaps not be a shift directly from Slothful to Diligent.

ck2_77.png

- Vanilla, but spawning characters named "Robin" and "Marion" might perhaps be very odd if this fires in certain parts of the map.

ck2_78.png

- While it'd not have much gameplay impact, it'd be nice if the new courtier adventurers perhaps formed a more lasting party if they come back alive and maybe picked (using a (weighted?) random list to pick it and flags to track it) a name for themselves, e.g. "The [Knights] of the [Square Table]", "The [Glorious] [Guild]", or "[Leader]'s [Company]".

- Perhaps really successful courtier adventurers (without an inheritance/landed spouse/etc.) could even go (landless) independent with custom titles named after their group, with the title's capital changing a bit as they start calling new places home and landed rulers getting events about interacting with them? Obviously not trivial to do, but I feel it'd be interesting considering it might be close to how the average tabletop party works (well, when they're not engaging in wanton murderhoboism...).

- I feel adventurers (the CK2 kind) fail rather often due to having less troops than their target. Perhaps their troops should scale a bit with class level or the like?

- I suspect it might be something vanilla, or that it might have something to do with there not being any land path, but I find that adventurers (the CK2 kind) and other realms are far too interested in going after my capital compared to the target duchy (e.g. an invasion of Lantan went to Nimbral) even though that means they're more likely to run into the majority of my troops (and the AI seems very eager to counter-invade, which might have it feed me its troops bit by bit rather than putting up a strong defence where I'd likely get naval landing penalties). If any relevant defines have been tweaked, they might need to be looked at again.

- I feel this event should have a "Never mind" option, since you don't get a preview of how much piety you stand to gain from a certain amount of gold.

ck2_79.png

- Given that I rule Lantan (even if my capital isn't there), I wonder why "a Lantanna exile" would be referred to as such.

ck2_80.png

- I'm not sure what Waterdeep is doing, but technically they should have disqualified themselves from being an MR by moving their capital there (at least by vanilla rules).

ck2_82.png

- Is syphilis known as such in the Realms? I noticed some other disease had been renamed.

ck2_83.png

- Unsure if vanilla: "Preparing an Adventure against me" should be "I am preparing an adventure against you" or the like.

ck2_84.png

- Misleading tooltip; I believe it is vanilla.

ck2_85.png

- Presumably vanilla: A forthnight has not yet passed from the "Please treat me!" event when this event fires.

ck2_86.png

- Vassals that aren't particularly fond of their liege and that aren't at risk of losing land (or being vassalized by e.g. an Archfiend) should probably not have their adventurers target hosts targeting their liege; this happened twice in quick succession, and was rather anticlimactic.

- There's apparently a disease that I can't find that supposedly has been going on for 100+ years.

ck2_87.png

- Haven't been able to determine the cause (there's definitely not a constant spam of anything in the log files, so something common being broken doesn't seem to explain it), but performance has suffered a bit as my game has progressed. I started in the earliest bookmark, and things have started to feel rather sluggish since at least the early 16th century.

- Perhaps related: My saves seem noticeably larger than they were some versions back. I have one old Cormyr/The Heartlands campaign from October, where a save right at the start was about 21 MB and the latest save nearly 200 years later (in 1686) was 166 MB -- and that was using the last start date, so it has over a century more historical characters to begin with). This time, my earliest save in 1374 is about 67 MB and my latest save in 1529 is 225 MB. I certainly expect the save to be somewhat bigger as things have been added, but it being about three times at large close to the start makes me think there's a lot more flags/variables being set since the number of living characters should be similar, and if those are checked a lot (or if the variables are used in wwhile loops or the like) that could perhaps explain the sluggishness.

- Reading up a bit on Nimbral, the wiki mentions them having "Hippogriff and Pegasi-mounted warriors". That feels like it could be either a retinue type (though the culture is Halruaan, so maybe not ideal) or part of a "Knights of the Flying Hunt" merc company (vassalized or not).

- The wiki further claims that all inhabitants in Nimbral were accomplished illusionists, so perhaps they should start with that school of magic in the case of the historical characters.

- A Nimbral culture might be good, seeing as the wiki gives a different demographic distribution there (90 % Human, 10 % Half-Elves (presumably Half-Moon Elves, based on the rest of the article)) than in Halruaa (90 % Human, 5 % Dwarves, 2 % Halflings, 1 % Elves, 1 % Half-Elves) and Samarach (which also could use a separate culture, as they're 99 % Human and 1 % Yuan-ti).

- Assuming the historical characters by the same names as the named Nimbral Lords are indeed them, Belaurant should probably be Kind and either Deceitful or have a high Intrigue education, Skouloun should probably have his death looked at and the Greedy and Arbitrary traits, and Yusendre similarly needs a better death reason.

- While a name might need to be invented for her, the Sythrilian Sybil should perhaps be added as a powerful psion courtier.

- It'd be nice if powerful Wizard courtiers (reading the article, it doesn't feel like something for a ruler) got the opportunity to challenge the Magister to a magical duel. As things stand, I found them completely forgettable as they only showed up in one generic event (Reaper's Due's "Priests helped out at the hospital and rel head wants this to be noticed") and otherwise only was a passive MA boost, so having them be more visible because you get notified of the occasional challenge would be nice.

- Reading the wiki, several historical Magisters became magical artefacts. Those artefacts should perhaps be added, either pre-scripted if they are known to be around somewhere or discoverable by adventurers.

- Sufficiently powerful Wizards (with sensible restrictions; I don't think most people would accept Szass' invitation, nor that he'd really be invited) could perhaps be asked to host the Magefair, which could be somewhere between a Wizard-exclusive feast and a Hermetic Grand Debate.

- As I continued around the wiki a bit, I stumbled upon the Rite of the Stag Lass, which perhaps is a bit too local to be added. However, Chesslaera Fallowfern seems like an interesting character to add.

- Also a random find on the wiki: The Dance of the Shimmering Blades could perhaps be a local festival in the Shaar.

- Similarly, the Arming might be a cultural(?) feast in the Vast.

- Vanilla, but perhaps foreigners shouldn't care at all about your vassal war laws?

That one is hardcoded, as of roughly 3.0, and Paradox never bothered to fix it. Perhaps removing all opinion modifiers on the law would fix it, but that clearly has other downsides.

This was messed up by Paradox with 2.8, before which AI used to be far more sensible in which part of the realm they would come for, and even if they would attack. Ever since, AI is far too easy to abuse in war. There are a few related defines, but they are related to war score too, which means it has ramifications in other areas of warfare, for both players and AI. I wish I knew why Paradox decided AI needed to be dropped on the head a few times. Others have noticed this too and no one thinks this was an improvement in the slightest.

We've changed it from feudal_opinion to vassal_opinion in Tianxia; it's not identical to the presumably intended "Only is_feudal = yes vassals get upset", but it feels more likely that other vassals also would chafe under such restrictions than that distant feudals would care in the slightest (well, outside the case where it messes with their family, but that's not something that can be checked...).

Suspected as much, though I've not played very much where there's no land path before now, and it's rather less noticeable when there is a land path since it's not as clear that the AI is loading up troops and dropping them on/next to your capital regardless of where it is supposed to be invading.

Not sure I should have hedge knights visit me as a Tribal Utgardt character.
A small group of religions can get this event, and they are usually not tribal. I will add a "tribal = no" to this event. Vanilla gives this to catholics, which makes sense since most of them are not tribal.
Characters that are scripted as absent should perhaps not be permitted to startup_populate societies.
Good catch, will note this as something to fix for all societies.
Not sure the icon for the Holy War CB is correct here (I'm Arcane, if it matters).
When another dev was cleanslating the cb's, they chose something different than the vanilla cross.

Fixed.
The age condition for this event option might need to be looked at.
Fixed, switched the age over to practical_age.
Not sure if something buggy has happened here, seeing as I can't really see why this character would engage in necromancy.
I recently went and added cooldowns to various troop spawning class decisions, can you see what ones the character took/used? I might of added an extra one as undead when it was some other type of troop summoned up.

I don't believe I have a save close to the relevant date, so it's unfortunately not possible.

Ok. I will check those summoning decisions and cooldowns again then. Thanks

Not sure if Lolthites make good Heralds or not.
Fixed, gave the Heralds more appropriate conditions on who can join.

Clerics and wizards do have access to the animate dead ritual.

Just noticed that my former character's reincarnation (from the Eternal Life event chain) doesn't have the relevant trait.
Fixed, we had the trait entry but not the gfx icon or the interface entry.

Fixed, upped the quality of the amulet of health to 4, that is quite a boost, for sure.

Should be blocked if either party is at war or is inaccessible/incapalbe/imprisoned.
You are right, CleanSlate is same as vanilla, they put is_inaccessible_trigger = no ... I changed it to yes, would you agree with that fix? It makes sense, because anyone who falls into that trigger shouldn't be dueling IMO.

I put is_inaccessible_or_incapable_trigger = no and war = no (block_general_events_trigger might also be an option; I don't recall the difference at the moment) for both parties in all "Someone attempts to start a duel over antagonizing" event options in Tianxia after I found the bug; non-battlefield duels are normally not on the table during wars, and the harsher trigger should cover some potential edge cases (e.g. either party being imprisoned between A getting the chance to be antagonistic and B getting the opportunity to challenge them to a duel).

Edit: I also submitted a pull request regarding how inaccessibility is handled for Sway/Antagonize in CleanSlate some months back (I believe it was approved) which might catch the non-war parts; unsure if you've CleanSlated those event files or not.

Excellent, I switched to the is_inaccessible_or_incapable_trigger, thank you!

I have yet to CleanSlate those, we are working through common folder first but its almost done. Thank you for helping us navigate through CleanSlate as well as other things as well.

I can see and use the decision to claim the Arcane Brotherhood despite already having claimed it.
Fixed, the decision had a NOT where a NOR should of been, and so it was not checking for the title having already existed. Also, cleaned many of the society decisions up using is_inaccessible_or_incapable_trigger = no - appreciate teaching us about this trigger, its handy!
Not sure this condition needs to be in the Realms; presumably, this was added in vanilla because "Sway the Pope and have him excommunicate people" was too powerful.
Fixed, commented that out.

Just a word of warning: Make sure not to use that trigger in any events but the first in event chains that set do_not_disturb; I've made that mistake a few times, and causing the event chains to end prematurely and occasionally leftover flags/modifiers only cleared at the proper end point.

Fixed, added a prisoner = no to the vassal conditions, and added is_inaccessible_trigger = no for the ruler.
Vanilla, but spawning characters named "Robin" and "Marion" might perhaps be very odd if this fires in certain parts of the map.
Fixed by removing the name entries so it should generate applicable names now. We are also going to fix the loc to reference the event target for them, so that should handle the tooltip.
Given that I rule Lantan (even if my capital isn't there), I wonder why "a Lantanna exile" would be referred to as such.
Fixed, it was copied from the Jewish exile physician template, and we had just replaced that with a Lantanna. Now, it'll say healer instead of exile.

From the continuing land of my dumb, random thoughts: so the Raven Queen is a presence in the Realms in 5e in various ways, is there any chance of her as maybe a patron deity, or a warlock patron or something?

We don't have individualised warlock patrons, but she's definitely one of the leading candidates for an archfey patron. We may mention her in event texts later, too. I'm not sure where she'd fit in as a patron deity, but if we ever revise that list, we'll give her some thought.

Thanks,

From my own very anecdotal gaming experiences, it's very popular amongst player hexblades to cite the Raven Queen as their patron (since the Hexblade entry moderately intimates she might be/is an option that way), if that's helpful.

Otherwise depending on if she is or is not an elf, I would suppose the Seldarine *maybe*, as far as all the shadar-kai in her service, as far as patron deities go.

Anyway, thanks as always for humouring my nonsense.
