Thanks once more @Rensslaer for the nomination, and everyone for your supporting messages. Appreciated.

One week has passed, so my turn to do the honours. I had some names in mind, and after checking who had been previously awarded in this list, I decided for @Chac1. He has been one of the more helpful and constant readers in my AAR and also he is involved in many others. Thanks for all the time and advice you share! Other candidates were also deserving the honours but I saw they have been already honoured not long ago.

I take the opportunity to suggest and recommend some of my readings, they are all CK2 AAR, hope you also enjoy them:
- Road of Queens by @Eurasia
- Tales of House d'Asti by @Austregisel
- True Sons of Ali by @Reykvolc
- Lost Seasons of the Danes by @Chac1
- North Wind, Midday Sun by @Ernain1111
... and very much waiting to see the World Where Absolute Monarchies Survived by @StrategyGameEnthusiast that is by now into the 'worldbuilding' stage.

So, everyone have a nice week and Congrats @Chac1 !!!
Thank you so much for the award @dmurgell . Not only do I appreciate this honor coming from you but also I very much enjoy your very funny AAR (Blackadder) and how you are supporting the CK2 sub-forum. You are definitely one of the impressive newcomers to the forum this year.

I certainly endorse all of the AARs you mention, including The World Where Absolute Monarchies Survived by @StrategyGameEnthusiast, although it seems deep in the pre-flight mode at the moment. I have read or commented on all of those on your list. If we are discussing the CK2 sub-forum though we should add to the list: History of Mazovia and its People by @kakom ; Siberian Prosperity by @Sanvone ; and the enduring classic and award-winner Blood and Empire by @Bullfilter . There are a few others too, and don't forget the recently completed (maybe?) The Sons of Ragnar Lodbrok by @Lord Durham . The CK2 sub-forum remains quite active.

To fulfill the request that @Rensslaer makes of award-winners, I will post a list of other AARs that I follow in a few days, and that list will include many from beyond the CK2 sub-forum.

Congrats @Chac1, very well deserved !
Congrats @Chac1
Congrats @Chac1 !!!!
Thank you for the well wishes @The Number 9 , Mr. SGE & @Eurasia .
Thank you @dmurgell! Good suggestions!

And congratulations @Chac1! Four wins in your 3 years here is definitely understating your value to the Forum as an encourager and cheerleader! Thank you for all you do here!
Thank you for your kind words @Rensslaer . You are definitely one of the folks who also does a lot for the forum. So that means a lot coming from you. Thank you. I definitely follow some of your AARs too (although one more than the other) and will include them on my list when that arrives.

Congrats, @Chac1. Excellent choice. I can only echo what @Rensslaer said. You are a credit to AARland.
Thank you, LD. Very much appreciate those kind words. Always means a lot coming from the Father of AARland.

Congratulations @Chac1! Truly one of the most involved members here. From writing, to reading and commenting, to interacting in special threads such as the SolAARium and bAAR, you help keep this community alive.

Well done!
Thank you, @jak7139 for those kind words too. (I have only gotten through the first pages of that extra reading too, as it has been a very busy week for me.) Your work is definitely on my favorites list too.

Congratulations, @Chac1 ! In addition to your comments, I appreciate your conversation in the threads.
Thank you, @Sirdramaticus . Definitely enjoying your new AAR and like what you are doing as you venture into writing. Your conversation is appreciated too. Your new one will be on the list I post later too.

Congratulations, @Chac1! Well deserved.
Thank you, @Cora Giantkiller . Means a lot coming from one of the top writers and commentators here. If I recall, you were a Newcomer of the Year winner sometime back and your talents show with every post. Thank you.

Thank you again for this very nice recognition from the community. The timing couldn't be better as my summer projects are ramping up and I am stepping back from the forum in the next few months. I won't be going away, just less involved than I would like.

If I have a request it is that folks might want to sample Lost Seasons of the Danes. Readers are hard to come by these days, and I certainly appreciate every one who drops around to read. That said, I am as guilty as others when it comes to getting into classic works that have accumulated a certain length. I keep saying one of these days. I have a few I am slowly getting through in catch-up mode but there are at least a half-dozen others that I have just not found the time to jump into yet. Lost Seasons may not be classic but it does now have length. Which doesn't make it easy for new folks. So if you are sampling I suggest one of the appendices (which are stand alone story arcs): Appendix A, The Great Blót of 790; Appendix B, The Society of Freyja (incomplete & still growing); and Appendix C, Playing all Sides.

Thanks for allowing this bit of self-promotion and thanks again for this recognition.

Can't fly without the pilot, can I? (he's from save 2 of approximately 110, and I've gotten to 1675 in save 1 as it stands. Provided there aren't any disasters, I'm going to estimate that I'll start the narrative in August at the very latest - although I have been thinking of doing mini-narratives in the current thread that would introduce some of the major characters of the world that are more background players in the protagonist's story [the protagonist is a royal, but an adolescent, the big bads of his world don't really interact with him beyond what he reads in newspapers/on social media] to flesh them out a bit more)

The other AARs you mentioned following are all great, and I can vouch for the high quality storytelling on offer in Lost Seasons (and the spinoffs).

Congrats to @Chac1!
Thank you, @kakom .
Congrats!
Thanks to you too, @Superstorm .

Apologies that I did not include your excellent history Wings of Faith, Wings of Fury on my CK2 list. However, it has been a bit quiet these past few months as you near the end of your great saga. It is often among my favorites when active. (No pressure though. We know the next chapter will come when it is ready.)
Congratulations @Chac1
Thank you @stnylan . I was going to mention your very moody and mysterious The Thorn of the Rose in my bigger list, but why not single it out here and now? Yours is an AAR full of atmosphere. You come to read about how everything is described and before you know it you are hypnotized in your very comfy chair!

This is an example of one of the classic AARs that has recently been revived and through some determination I brought myself current with it. Such catch-up projects are possible.

Thank you to @coz1 & @Wraith11B . Thank you for your toasts. I very much appreciate hearing from the long-time veterans of AARland, and important authAARs to boot. Of course, @coz1 has been essential to keeping AARland going for many years and his spirit embues this forum.

These are two writers who also have long-running AARs which are in my queue. However, their length has kept me at bay. I know others have caught up and conquered the reading of them even recently but so far I have not tried to scale those summits.

I am talking about The Wars of the Roses and Der Adler, der Wolf, und die Sonne. I think this week I should also include a list of essential AARs in AARland that are in my queue that I suggest folks read but that will also need a measure of commitment. I know. What does that say about me that I haven't attempted that reading yet? But I still hope to get to them in time.

In the meantime, I was thinking some folks might want to review my ballot from the recent ACAs to also get some reading ideas and see what I have been supporting. I will likely post many of those titles in this thread this week too.

I realized in reviewing my list that I spend a lot of time reading CK3 AARs. I think CK3 and EUIV remain the most active sub-fora and they attract a lot of interesting writers. But because CK3 takes up so much of my interest (reading the AARs: I do not play the game) I thought I should break out the AARs I am reading there, just like what I did for the CK2 sub-forum.

So here is what I am reading there starting with the award-winning AAR from @Cora Giantkiller already alluded to earlier in this thread from this week.... The Sword of Virtanen.

Then there are: The Gordon Effect by @Revan86 ; Salt & Steel by @Wysemage ; The Legacy of Eadmund by @Koweth ; The Red Heart of Europe by @High Speed Flying Gladius ; North Star Rising by @Sirdramaticus ; God’s Handmade Wonders, God’s Hand Made Me by @Jojonium ; and And the Northern Scourge Fell Upon Them by @john trask . These are among the best and there are quite a few others to sample in the CK3 sub-forum.

I hope to be back later this week with a list of other AARs that I am reading elsewhere in AARland, along with the list of long-time classics that I mentioned earlier.

Thanks so much to all who have weighed in here. I hope to have my other lists of what I am reading later this week.

Congratulations @Chac1 Well deserved nomination for frequent visitor among many AAR :)
Thanks so much @Sanvone . As mentioned earlier, I am slowly moving through your grand opus.

So happy to see you recognized @Chac1 ! Congratulations!
Thank you @Nikolai . Hoping you are in full recovery and you have kicked what ailed you.
You are the authAAR of many AARs but I tend to follow two of them and I would recommend them to others: Dreams of Ptolemaios (an Imperator AAR) and Dreams of a Better Future - Tales of the Roccan Resistance (from the Stellaris sub-forum).

Warm congratulations @Chac1 :) A generous, thoughtful and supportive fan if ever there was one.
Thank you @Bullfilter . You too are the authAAR of many AARs and again I tend to follow two of them. I've already mentioned your great gameplay AAR in the CK2 zone but I also follow your HoI4 AAR: Poles Apart. Definitely an interesting read (even for someone who doesn't play that game).

Now that I've mentioned these fine AARs, my next list(s) will be a bit shorter and easier to read. More for later in the week.

Having a very busy week outside the forum, however, wanted to post at least two more times on the very interesting list of AARs that I am reading (although I am behind in most of them, I fear) and on the classics in my queue. This list will look a lot like my recent ACA ballot which could also provide a short guide.

I have noticed folks mentioning they want more reading for the summer months (in the northern hemisphere) so perhaps this will be helpful to them.

As we have already discussed CK2 and CK3 reading, along with a few other AARs here and there, this list will cover the remaining sub-fora.

Europa Universalis IV:

Jak's Game Guide: An EU4 Tutorial by @jak7139 ; Anchor and Chain by @King of Men ; History of Romanland by @KaiserWilhelmI ; The Mightiest Pen by @alonsom13 ; New Era, Old Gods- an EU4 Norse Sweden AAR by @Bergil ; and A Relic of the Past by @Killcrazy13 .

Victoria:

The Leading Spirits: The State of Moravia in the Age of Revolutions by @Revan86 ; Shining Stars - A United States Coming of Age Saga by @Rensslaer ; The Pyrenean Century (Jewish Alps) by @Bfc kfc ; and Danish Space Marines by @TheFlemishDuck .

Hearts of Iron 4:

The Thorn of the Rose by @stnylan ; American Caesar by @Bloodfelt ; and Turkish Delight by @TheButterflyComposer .

Stellaris:

Secrets of Kni’thokon by @crisrko ; In the Bowels of the Empire by @AxolotlKnight ; Mandate Of Heaven by @CBR JGWRR ; and The Stars Thin-scattered Made the Heavens Large by @Uriah .

Others:

Grand Tactician - The Civil War - Whiskey and Lemons by @Eurasia (in the OT Forum); Insanely Stronk by @TheExecuter (HoI3DH) ; Shadows of the Long War by @Chilango2 (OT Forum); and Ex Roma ad Stellas by @RedTemplar (I:R).

I hope to have one more post before handing this off this weekend. Thanks for letting me share.

Alright, now the list of AARs I wish I was reading and have bookmarked, besides the two already mentioned.... also in no particular order....

Starting this off with Echoes of a New Tomorrow by @DensleyBlair (Victoria 2) which has just wrapped up after six years of posting. From some of the posts I've seen of their writing, Densley has a nice sense of humor so this might be great fun.

Die Wacht Im Raum by @Side (Stellaris) which comes highly recommended and appears to be ongoing from 2021, although not really that long currently, so this may be an easy one to try out.

The Last Mission by @TheExecuter (Hearts of Iron 2) which also just finished: started in 2007 then went on hiatus and wrapped up very recently.

The Empire Strikes Back (Part 4) by @Idhrendur (Hearts of Iron 4) is the fourth part of a mega-campaign; this fourth part started in 2023.

The Butterfly Effect by @El Pip (Hearts of Iron 2) started in 2006 and is famous for being "slower than real time."

Rex Germania by @Rensslaer (EUIV): I must confess I am about halfway through but fell off perhaps because I don't play EUIV. However, hoping to rejoin this award-winning game play AAR when I find the time.

I'm sure I'm missing other classics but these are in my queue with promises to jump into them at some point. I'm sure I'm missing at least a dozen other AARs in various stages but I've tried to create a list of AARs I am following this week and also those that should be followed (at some point).

Thanks everyone! Hoping to hand off properly this weekend.

Thanks so much @El Pip & @DensleyBlair . When I start your epics I will definitely leave remarks and a trail of emojis too.

And now it is time to hand off the honors....

The next Fan of the Week is a first-time winner and someone who is also impressing folks with their AAR and commentary in their first year around these parts. So here is the first golden fan for this great fan:

Please send your congratulations to @alonsom13 ! ¡Felicidades!
