I'm sorry, but I completely disagree. First, I haven't seen any "unacceptable" hate speech—sharp criticism isn't the same as hate speech. Disappointed consumers have the right to remain negative until their issues are resolved, whether it's under freedom of speech or consumer rights granted by law.I normally don't post on any forums, but I feel like for once I want to add my voice. Especially on Steam, there is such a toxic and hostile atmosphere, it is just beyond me. I enjoy the game, I really do. I've played for 181 hours so far, it's very relaxing after a busy day at work. Is it perfect? No. But the amount of hate and personal insults people feel the need to spew, it's bizarre to me.
What I came to say is thank you to the developers, and I do not believe that you (or anyone else) deserves the abuse that has been hurled at you. It may be worth remembering that unhappy voices are usually the loudest, and I think that there are many people like me out there who are simply enjoying the game in peace and quiet, staying well clear of the forums.
Secondly, I personally believe so far the devs deserve the criticism—it's entirely their own making. They've released an overpriced, content-lacking DLC amid long-standing issues of lack of transparency (no one responding to players' queries) and inefficiency (constant delays in DLC releases, no major updates for a long time, no news on the asset editor). Please note that those of us criticizing the developers here are fans and supporters of the game just like you, many with over several hundred hours of gameplay. In contrast, those who have truly given up on the game wouldn't waste their time urging devs to do better. I think the forum itself is a good channel for interaction between developers and players, and it's unacceptable to label non-hateful criticism as "toxic."
Of course, I appreciate your style of focusing on the game rather than letting yourself be drawn into negativity, and you're totally free to ignore the forum and focus on your gaming experience.
