So it is only the Beta Patch that you have a problem with.

Are you sure you installed it correctly?
You uncompressed the files into the EU2 folder?
and Maintained the directory structure?
and selected to overwrite all files?

I'm going to start over and use the 1.09 patch.

Must have been something wrong with the way you were uncompressing the beta patch.

That would usually give you an error when uncompressing.
