So what is your favorite temple hero to use? It's hard to choose because I like so many of them, especially the paladin, blademaster, and priestess of crypta. If I had to chose one I would say the paladin because he's the toughest hero, and... he purges evil.
 
I quite like the two archer class temples. The two priestess class temples are my least favourites (they don't seem to do a whole lot when I use them).
 
I like Krypta, but only because she gets the vampire at level 15, which is really helpful. I almost always start with either Helia or healers. Helia's area spell is awesome, and the healers resurrection is so valuable. I like Paladins also because they have so many hitpoints. I don't think I have ever used barbarians, and the theives are not worth much either. The wizards are ok, if I am using them and have a free temple space to build the ice palace. Fervus is ok, if I have the extra temple spot.
 
Paladins are nigh indestructible, that is true. Blademasters pack more of a punch, though. At a high enough level, the extra hitpoints do not mean much. Archers of Helia are pretty impressive, too. A high-level ice mage can take out a fairly large group. However, I find the voice acting poor, so I am less enthused about them.
 
My favorite is probably the Paladins, because I find them hilarious how they're shouting about purging evil and they're very useful in terms of attacking so easily. I also like the archers of helia. I don't think much about them when I build them but they start owning enemies in a very unassuming manner as the game gets going.
 
The Temple of Agrela provides the Resurrection spell, easily the most powerful spell in Majesty 2. I always build it and thus always have some Priestesses of Agrela. They are very good, tough and excellent at healing. The Paladdin is indeed extremely tough but hasn't that strong of an attack. I prefer Blademasters as they have enough HP to survive quite nicely but have a much stronger attack.

Normnally, though, I prefer Dwarves and Elves over most templars. They are on the same power level, are much more available and look cooler.
 
I like them all and use them all.

If I am picking for the spells then it's hard for me to pass up the resurrection spell. 750 for those high level heroes is a steal. And of course, resurrection and a pile of gold means a single party can wipe out just about anything if you micromanage it.

If I'm picking for the building, the ice temple (if you did the DLC to get it free) rebuilds itself ridiculously fast. It takes a pack of wandering monsters to actually hurt it (just one wolf or imp and its life won't even go down!).

But if we're talking about the actual unit and not the spells or building, then I think I like the Krypta priestess the best. I love how she skips around, "sowing death" and her life drain attack that heals her and hurts them means she can stay in battles with tough mobs or bosses just about forever (especially with a cleric casting mana regeneration on her).
