My ideas for EU 2 (sorry if I repeat some ideas from others) :
Time : I would like EU 2 to reach from 1492 to 1914 (so nationalism and imperialism would become more important)...
Research : The Tech-Tree should become "bigger". It should be impossible to reach the end of the tech-tree.
Population :
1. Nations
I would like to see, that for example it would become possible, that nations reunion diplomatically, without causing nationalism in the taken provinces (i don't think that people would have started a revolt against prussia in 1872).
Further it would be good, if migration would be simulated (people of french nationality would emigrate from elsass-lothringen to france)...
And i would be pleased if the population would be simulated in more detail...Every nationality would be a part of the population...because of different growth rate, some nationalities could become the majority or become minority...this shold have
effect on the risk to revolt...
2. Religion
People that agree with your religion should have a higher growth rate, so that your religion can become the major religion in this province...it should go on longer terms...
Also it should be possible to change a provinces religion with sending missionares...
3. Economy
it should be possible to build more manufactures andto build them for the same costs (it cannot be, that costs for building a luxury manufactury goes from 600 Gold up to 9000 Gold)...and this in a term of 100 hundred years...
also it shold be possible to build more than one manufactury in one province...
it would also be nice, if the number of different manufacturies would be increased...
4. General
What about moving the capital...Prussias capital for example moved from Königsberg to Berlin (ok, Brandenburg took the name of prussia, but left the capital in Berlin)...
Oh, and renaming the country could be useful (why don't name Deutsches Reich, if you control all provices with great german population)...
----------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry, for my bad english, but i had not the time, to control style and grammar of the sentences...
So i would be very pleased if most of my ideas would become real in EU 2 (then i would surely buy it)...
PS : It's really easy to write a program for modifying the *.inc data...I have done it and it makes it possible to create scenarios o your own...thx to paradox...

1. yeah
2. unsure
3. price yes sevral in one province, unsure
4. capital thingy, maby would be better with only point two.
ps. Can i have that program?

Well, I would have somewhat different desires:

I think adding linguistic group differences as well as religioous differences is a great idea. These should also compound the revolt levels and duration of instability for conquered/annexed provinces. Thirty or forty years is much too short a time expect nationalism to fade away. Recent hisotry should make clear to all who are awake that 80 to 100 years is probably not enough to bring it to zero.

As a follow on to the above, I hope they will make it essentially impossible to conquer the world. They should amplify the difficulties of pacificifization currently in the game:
a) Core provinces should be those that identify with you nationalistically and should be glad to be conquered with a possiblity of partisans rallying to you cause. No revlot penalty on acquisition.
b) Provinces which are not core, but which share your religion and linquistic group and where the current ruling house are differnt religion and linquistic groups should have a 1 nationalism factor.
c) Non-core provinces with the same language and religion and where the ruling house shares one but not both should have a 2 nationalism factor.
d) Non core provinces where both you and the ruling house share the same religion and language should have a four nationalism factor.

etc.,etc.

This should continue to build to the point where if you conquer or annex a province which has unrelated language and religion and the old ruling house had the same religion and language should get at least a +12 nationalism factor with the smae erosion rate of 1 point every decade.

In addition, the religion unrest scale should be have a negative range double the positive range. ( i.e. +10 to -5)

Language should have at least three relationships. Same, related language group, unrelated.

In short, to be a good game at the global strategic level, it should be virtually impossible to conquer the world. Attempting to do so should not only incurr both military reaction and trade restriction but there should not be enough time in the game to pacify all those unrelated provinces and attempting to conquer them should result in revolt, revolution and economic breakdown making one extremely vullnerable to attack by ones neighbors.

I know those that get a testosterone rush from world conquest won't like this, but if that is what you want I would point you back to the Civ games. It is completely unrealistic to belive some could or would even want to conquer the world in this time period. Lets make it a good challenging game rooted in reality.
